Baolai Hot Spring Area Introduction
Baolai Hot Springs Area is located in Baolai Village, Liouguei District. Crossing the Baolai No. 1 Bridge will take you to the Baolai Hot Springs Area, which is a famous hot spring tourism destination in southern Taiwan. During the Japanese colonial period, the area was covered in primeval forests filled with cypress, camphor, beech, and other mountain trees. As a result, the Japanese referred to this place as "Penglai Wonderland," which is the origin of the name Baolai. The hot spring water here is a sulfur spring, with a temperature of approximately 60 degrees Celsius, rich in minerals and with a pH level around 7. It is said to have benefits such as promoting blood circulation, beautifying the skin, and maintaining the immune system. A recommended stay of about 3 hours allows for a leisurely soak and enjoyment of local delicacies.
