Kaohsiung Station Introduction
The new Kaohsiung Station, designed by the Dutch architectural team Mecanoo, is based on the concept of "the heart of Kaohsiung." Located in the core area of Kaohsiung City, it features natural ecology and multi-layered open spaces. The design includes a large landscape green canopy with a height of over 6 meters, transforming the station area into a beautiful landscape park. The underground station hall of the "sunk plaza" is adorned with a ceiling that resembles the traditional lanterns of temple courtyards, creating an arched lighting effect, complemented by light, fluffy white cloud ceilings. During the day, natural light spills in through skylights and the open ceiling, creating a bright, clean, and spacious public space.
