Kaohsiung Station Introduction
Kaohsiung's new station, designed by the Dutch architecture team Mecanoo, is based on the concept of the "Heart of Kaohsiung." Located in the core area of Kaohsiung City, it features natural ecology and multi-layered open spaces, with a large green landscape canopy standing over 6 meters high. The station area is a beautiful landscaped park. The underground level of the "sunken plaza" houses the station hall, where one can look up to an arched ceiling illuminated by light fixtures transformed from traditional temple lanterns, alongside fluffy white cloud-like ceilings. Natural light flows in during the day through skylights or the open ceiling, creating a bright, clean, and spacious public space.
