Kaohsiung Station Introduction
The Kaohsiung New Station, designed by the Dutch team Mecanoo, is based on the concept of "The Heart of Kaohsiung." Located in the core area of Kaohsiung City, it features natural ecology and multi-layered open spaces, with a large landscape green roof above 6 meters in height. The station area is essentially a beautiful landscape park. The underground level of the "sunken plaza" houses the station hall, where visitors can look up to see the ceiling transformed from traditional temple lanterns into a vaulted illumination, along with light, airy white cloud-like ceilings. During the day, natural light pours in through skylights or the expansive ceiling, creating a bright, clean, and spacious public area.
