Kaohsiung Railway Station Introduction
The new Kaohsiung station, designed by the Dutch Maken Architects, is based on the concept of the "Heart of Kaohsiung." Located in the core area of Kaohsiung City, it features natural ecology and a multi-layered open space, with a large landscaped green ceiling height of over 6 meters. The station area serves as a beautiful landscape park. The "sunken plaza" has an underground station hall where visitors can look up and see the lighting system designed from traditional temple lanterns transformed into an arched ceiling, along with light, airy white clouds for the ceiling. Daylight naturally spills through skylights or the open ceiling, creating a bright, clean, and spacious public space.
