Kaohsiung Station Introduction
The new Kaohsiung Station, designed by the Dutch architecture team Mecanoo, is based on the concept of the "heart of Kaohsiung." Located in the core area of Kaohsiung City, it features natural ecology and multi-level open spaces, with a large landscaped green roof rising above 6 meters in height. The station area is essentially a beautiful landscape park. The underground station hall of the "sunken plaza" is illuminated by a vaulted ceiling transformed from traditional temple lanterns, combined with light, airy white cloud-like ceilings. During the day, natural light flows in through skylights or the vaulted roof, creating a bright, clean, and spacious public area.
