Monkey Cave Trail Introduction
It is said that the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, who jumped out of Huaguo Mountain (Wuzhi Mountain), was imprisoned in a cave due to his mischievous behavior that violated the heavenly rules. After thousands of years, a typhoon blew away the spell, and the stone cracked open again, hence the name Monkey Cave. The Monkey Cave Trail is approximately 900 meters long and offers beautiful scenery along the way, rich in pristine forests and natural ecology, resembling a walk through a shaded tunnel that feels refreshing. It consists of stone steps and wooden pathways, with cute stone monkeys welcoming travelers every 100 meters or so. A famous section of the Monkey Cave Trail, known as the "One Line Sky," is a long stone staircase formed by two massive rock walls, with its narrowest point being only about 60 centimeters wide. As you venture deeper, while admiring the wonders of nature, you can’t help but worry about getting stuck. If you start from the Guanyin Temple Trail on Wuzhi Mountain and walk approximately 650 meters, you can reach Jin Gui Rock and connect to the Monkey Cave Trail to Daogong Hall at Wuzhi Mountain. The high point of the Monkey Cave Trail offers a distant view of Zhubei City, Hsinchu City, and Miaoli's Toufen and Zhunan Towns, making for a pleasant landscape.
