Guanghe Temple Introduction
Guanghe Temple, located at No. 608 Zhongzheng Road, Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, is commonly referred to by locals as "Wangye Temple." However, it does not enshrine the worship of the Five Lords but primarily focuses on the worship of the Three Mountain Kings, as Hakka people refer to the Three Mountain Kings as "Wangye." Since the Three Mountain Kings is a unique belief of the Hakka people, they brought this faith to Taiwan after migrating and reclaiming land, making Guanghe Temple a center of belief for Hakka people in the Xinpu area, and it is one of the most famous temples in the region. The temple's most distinctive feature is its "duichangzuo" architectural style, which is similar to the Wanhui Temple in Wandan Township, Pingtung County. This style divides the structure along a central axis, with wooden carvings on both sides crafted by different groups of artisans. As a result, the hanging tubes, bracket sets, and lion seats on the left and right sides are distinctively different, showcasing the work of different craftsmen.
