Guanghe Temple Introduction
Guanghe Temple, located at No. 608, Zhongzheng Road, Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, is locally known as "Wangye Temple." However, it does not worship the Wangye deities such as Wufu Qiansui but primarily enshrines the San Shan Guo Wang. The Hakka people refer to San Shan Guo Wang as "Wangye." This belief is unique to the Hakka community, and after they moved and settled in Taiwan, they brought this faith with them. As a result, Guanghe Temple also serves as the spiritual center for Hakka residents in the Xinpu area and is one of the most renowned temples in the locality. The most distinctive feature of Guanghe Temple is its construction style known as "dui chang zuo," which is similar to Wanhui Temple in Wandan Township, Pingtung County. This style divides the structure along a central axis, with two groups of craftsmen separately working on the left and right wooden carvings. As a result, the details of the ceiling cylinders, the brackets, and the lion pedestals on each side differ, showcasing the distinct artistry of different craftsmen.
