Guanghe Temple Introduction
Located at No. 608, Zhongzheng Road, Xinpuh Town, Hsinchu County, Guanghe Temple, commonly referred to by locals as "Wang Ye Temple," does not worship the deities associated with the Wang Ye belief, such as the Five Emperor Gods, but primarily venerates the Three Mountain Kings. This is because Hakka people refer to the Three Mountain Kings as "Wang Ye." As a unique belief among the Hakka community, they brought this faith with them when migrating to Taiwan, making Guanghe Temple a spiritual center for Hakka people in the Xinpuh area and one of the most renowned temples in the region. The most distinctive feature of Guanghe Temple is its architectural style known as "dui chang zuo," which is also seen in Wanhui Temple in Wandan Township, Pingtung County. This style utilizes the central axis as a boundary, with the left and right wooden carvings being crafted by two different groups of artisans. As a result, the suspended beams, corbels, and lion pedestals on both sides exhibit notable differences, reflecting the individual craftsmanship of different masters.
