Guanghe Temple Introduction
Guanghe Temple, located at No. 608 Zhongzheng Road, Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, is locally known as "Wangye Temple." However, it does not worship the Wangye deities like the Five Lords but primarily venerates the Three Mountains National King, as Hakka people refer to the Three Mountains National King as "Wangye." This belief is unique to the Hakka community, and after migrating to Taiwan, they brought this faith along, making Guanghe Temple a cultural center for Hakka people in the Xinpu area and one of the most renowned temples in the region. The temple's most distinctive feature is its architectural design of "Duichangzuo," which is similar to Wanhui Temple in Wandan Township, Pingtung County. This means that the wooden carvings on the left and right sides are crafted by two different sets of artisans, with variations in the designs of the hanging tubes, eaves, and lion bases on both sides, reflecting the distinct styles of different craftsmen.
