Taiwan Craft Home - Jingping Fine Arts Craft Workshop Introduction
Woodcraft artist Huang Wen-bin has established his skills based on traditional wooden mold techniques and is unafraid to challenge and innovate. What others see as discarded small wooden pieces, Huang views as treasures. With a philosophy of environmental conservation and recycling, he glues and presses these wood pieces together, then utilizes lathe technology and bearing principles, combining the beauty of wood colors to create stunning wood mosaic art pieces. His pursuit of precision and standardization from wooden molds transforms into practical artistic creations, complemented by his exquisite designs of wood color. Through long-term dedication and research, Huang has honed exceptional skills and has won numerous awards, including: the 5th "Top Ten Technical Models" (Golden Skill Award), 4th Huangqi Art Exhibition Honorable Mention, selection in the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition, selection in the 2008 Taiwan Craft Competition, and selection in the 2015 Taiwan International Wood Sculpture Competition. In 2020, Huang was selected for the Taiwan Craft Home, where his "Elegant Bottle Craft Workshop" exhibits meticulously calculated angles and well-thought-out designs, showcasing exquisite wood mosaic works that exemplify superb craftsmanship. His woodworking transcends simple wood creation to become sophisticated and intricate craft, which, when combined with mechanisms, forms an innovative artistic perspective. Huang believes that technique requires the nurturing of art, while art needs the support of technique. Dedication to a single endeavor throughout life is what he defines as "Ikigai" (a reason for being).
