Taiwan Craft Home - Jingping Fine Arts and Crafts Workshop Introduction
The拼木工藝家 (woodworking artist) Huang Wen-bin bases his skills on traditional wood modeling techniques and boldly embraces challenges and innovations. What others see as discarded small wooden pieces, Huang Wen-bin views as treasures. With a commitment to environmental protection and recycling, he glues and presses these wooden blocks, then employs lathe techniques and bearing principles, combining the beauty of wood colors to create a series of stunning拼木寶格 (wood mosaic) crafts. He transforms the precision and standardization pursued in wood modeling into practical artistic creations, along with exquisite designs of wood colors. After years of dedicated research, Huang Wen-bin has honed exceptional skills, earning various awards, including: the 5th National Technical Model (Golden Skills Award), the 4th Huangxi Fine Arts Exhibition Selection, selection in the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition, selection in the 2008 Taiwan Craft Competition, and selection in the 2015 Taiwan International Wood Carving Competition. In 2020, Huang Wen-bin was selected as a member of Taiwan Craft Home, where the "Beautiful Craft Workshop" exhibits meticulously calculated angles and carefully detailed design planning, showcasing exquisite拼木 (wood mosaic) works, demonstrating that woodworking can be not only functional but also a refined craft. By incorporating mechanisms, it evolves into an innovative artistic vision. Huang Wen-bin believes that technology needs the influence of art, while art requires the support of technology. Dedicating a lifetime to a single pursuit reflects the spirit of "一生懸命" (wholehearted effort). He invites you to experience the wonderful world crafted from small wooden pieces by Huang Wen-bin.
