Taiwan Craft Home - Jingping Fine Crafts Workshop Introduction
Woodcraft artist Huang Wen-bin's skills are rooted in traditional wooden mold techniques, as he boldly embraces challenges and innovations. What others see as discarded small wooden blocks are treasures in the eyes of Huang. With a philosophy of loving wood and advocating for environmental recycling, he glues and compresses wooden blocks, then utilizes lathe technology and bearing principles, combining the beauty of wood colors to create stunning pieces of patchwork woodcraft. Transforming the precision and standards pursued in wooden molds into practical artistic creations, combined with exquisite designs of wood colors, Huang Wen-bin has honed his exceptional skills through years of dedicated research, earning numerous awards, including: the 5th Top Ten Technical Models (Golden Technique Award), 4th Huangxi Art Exhibition Selection, 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition Selection, 2008 Taiwan Craft Competition Selection, and 2015 Taiwan International Woodcarving Competition Selection. In 2020, Huang Wen-bin was selected as a member of the Taiwan Craft Home, showcasing his meticulously crafted patchwork wood pieces in the "Jingping Fine Craft Workshop," completed through precise angle calculations and thorough design planning. His work showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of patchwork wood art, demonstrating that woodworking can transcend mere functionality to become refined and skillful craftsmanship. By incorporating mechanisms, it evolves into a new artistic vision. Huang believes that technology needs to be enriched by art, and art requires the support of technology. Dedicating a lifetime to a single pursuit reflects the spirit of "Ikigai." You are invited to experience the wonderful world that Huang Wen-bin creates from small wooden blocks.
