Changhua City and Bagua Mountain Fort Introduction
The old-style mountain cannon was no match for the emerging enemy forces at Baguashan, formerly known as Dingjun Mountain. When Changhua City was completed in the 20th year of Jiaqing (1815), a brick fort named Dingjun Mountain Fort was built on the mountain, which included four artillery platforms and one gate tower. In the first year of Tongzhi (1862), Dai Chaochun joined forces with the Baguahui to rise up. A few days later, Baguashan was captured, and the Dingjun Fort artillery platform was also taken over and used to bombard Changhua City, which was breached two days later.
