Old House Transformed into a Salon: A New Cultural Hub in Huwei Former legislator Wang Lieping spent two years organizing this over seventy-year-old "Xingya-style" old house hidden in the urban area of Huwei City, transforming it into a hub for promoting ecology, gender, and alternative globalization. Not only does it leave behind a historical building in Yunlin, but it also adds a place for the promotion of art, culture, ecology, and gender ideology. The Huwei House Salon is nestled in the alleys of Huwei City, featuring an architecture that combines "Japanese style" and "Western flavor," built around the 1940s. Due to urban expansion, it was submerged in surrounding buildings, with few Huwei residents being aware of its existence. Over two years ago, Wang Lieping, by chance, purchased this building and set about redefining it as a space for deep artistic and cultural development. The Huwei House Salon is Yunlin County's first attempt to combine art, culture, ecology, environmental protection, and literature into one space. Wang Lieping stated that the salon preserves the beauty of this old building while incorporating many modern artistic creations, showcasing a spirit of thought and discussion, thereby preserving a public architecture worthy of appreciation in Yunlin.

Huwei Tsuo Salon Introduction

Old House Transformed into a Salon: A New Cultural Spot in Huwei Former legislator Wang Li-Ping spent two years renovating a more than seventy-year-old "Hsing-Ya style" old house hidden in the city of Huwei. It has been transformed into a platform for promoting ecology, gender, and alternative globalization. This initiative not only preserves a historical building in Yunlin but also creates a salon for promoting art, culture, ecology, and gender studies. The Huwei Salon is discreetly located in the alleys of Huwei City, featuring a building that combines "Japanese style" and "Western flavor," constructed around the 1940s. Due to urban expansion, it has been overlooked by many residents of Huwei. Over two years ago, Wang Li-Ping serendipitously acquired this building and commenced renovations, aiming to create a space for deep artistic and cultural development. The Huwei Salon is Yunlin County's first attempt to combine art, culture, ecology, environmental protection, and literature into one space. Wang Li-Ping stated that the salon has preserved the beauty of this old building while incorporating modern art creations, showcasing the spirit of reflection and discussion, thus retaining a public building in Yunlin that is worth appreciating.
