The Origin of Yanqing: The Yanqing Puppet Carving Studio was established in 1974 by Mr. Hsu Yanqing. Mr. Hsu was born in July 1951 in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County. Since childhood, he showed a fondness for carving figures from wood. Over time, he became self-taught and was able to carve vividly lifelike puppet heads from wood. He then painted various characters from his imaginative world with colored brushes, each full of spirit and vitality, thus diving into the world of puppet carving.
