The Origin of Yanqing: Yanqing Puppet Carving Society was established in the 63rd year of the Republic of China by Mr. Hsu Yanqing. Mr. Hsu Yanqing was born in July 1951 in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County. Since childhood, he enjoyed carving various characters on wood. Over time, he became self-taught and was able to carve lifelike puppet heads from wood. He then painted various characters from his imagined world with colorful brushes, each full of spirit and vividness, thus immersing himself into the world of puppet carving.
