The Origin of Yanqing: The Yanqing Puppet Carving Studio was established in 1974 by Mr. Hsu Yanqing. Mr. Hsu was born in July 1951 in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County. From a young age, he enjoyed carving various figures from wood, and over time, he became self-taught in creating lifelike puppet heads. He would then paint these figures with vibrant colors, bringing to life characters from his imaginative world, which led him into the captivating realm of puppet carving.
