The earthen wall is part of the enclosure of the residence of the giant merchant Yan Dongyi, which established a rice mill and oil factory. The residence was built during the Daoguang period and part of the earthen wall remained after the residence was rebuilt following the major earthquake in the 31st year of the Guangxu period.

The Ong Wall is a part of the enclosure of the residence of the wealthy merchant Yan Dongyi, which was established between the rice mill and the oil factory. This residence was built during the Daoguang era and a portion of the Ong Wall was left after the residence was rebuilt following the major earthquake in the 31st year of the Guangxu reign.
