Pomegranate Station Introduction
Pomegranate Station, known as Shiliuban Station during its opening in the 38th year of the Meiji era, began operations in 1905. In the 1950s, it mainly served the demand for road gravel across the island. Currently, it is a stop on the Taiwan Railways Administration's west-east trunk line, with only commuter trains stopping here. The wooden station building and staff dormitory were constructed in the early post-war period. Pomegranate Station is located in the suburbs of Douliu City, formerly known as Shiliuban Station, situated between Douliu Station (to the south) and Linnei Station (to the north). It is a wooden station built during the Japanese colonial period and is the only remaining early small station in Yunlin County. With only local trains stopping here, it has a history of over a hundred years from the Japanese colonial era and features a simple Japanese style with a tranquil environment, earning it the nickname "The Century-Old Station."
