Pomegranate Railway Station Introduction
The Pomegranate Station, known as Shiliuban Station during the Japanese colonial period, was opened in 1905. In the 1960s, it served primarily to meet the demand for ballast across the island. It has now been reduced to a flag stop on the Taiwan Railways' West Coast Line, with only commuter trains stopping there. The wooden station building and staff dormitory were constructed in the early post-war period. Located in the outskirts of Douliu City, the station, formerly known as Shiliuban Station, lies between Douliu Station (to the south) and Linnei Station (to the north). It is a wooden station built during the Japanese colonial period and is the only remaining early small station in Yunlin County, serving only local trains. With a history spanning over a century since the Japanese colonial period, it features a simple Japanese-style architecture and a tranquil environment, earning the nickname "Centennial Old Station."
