Pomegranate Station Introduction
The Pomegranate Station, known as Shih Liu Ban Station in its early years, opened in the 38th year of the Meiji era. During the 1950s, it mainly served the island's demand for gravel. Currently, it has been reduced to a flag stop on the Taiwan Railway's trunk line, with only commuter trains stopping here. The wooden station building and staff dormitory were constructed in the early post-war period. Located on the outskirts of Douliu City, the station was formerly known as Shih Liu Ban Station and is situated between Douliu Station (to the south) and Linnei Station (to the north). It is a wooden station built during the Japanese colonial period and is the only remaining early small station in Yunlin County. Only local trains stop here, and it has a history of over a century, showcasing a simple Japanese architectural style and a tranquil environment, earning the nickname "Centennial Old Station."
