The largest wooden statue of Guan Yu in Taiwan, Nan Sheng Gong in Douliou, was originally named Ci Xiu Tang. It belongs to the Luan Tang system of Fu Bi Ji Shi. The main deities worshipped include Guan Di, Lu Zu, Zao Jun, Yue Wang, and Wang Ling Guan, collectively referred to by believers as the Five Holy Benefactors. The statue of Guan Lao Ye, which guards the temple, is carved from camphor wood, stands 12 feet tall, and weighs over 600 Taiwanese catty, making it a rare sight in Taiwan.

Duliu Nansheng Temple Introduction

The largest wooden statue of Guandi in Taiwan, Nanshengong, originally named Cixiutang, belongs to the Luantang system that assists in benefiting the world. It enshrines five deities: Guandi, Lü Zu, Zao Jun, Yue Wang, and Wang Lingguan, whom followers reverently call the Five Holy Benefactors. The statue of Lord Guandi in the main hall is carved from camphor wood, standing twelve feet tall and weighing over six hundred Taiwanese jin, making it rare in Taiwan. The old Nanshengong was established in the 50th year of the Republic of China, and in the 66th year, the temple was relocated to its current site, enshrining the "Lord Guandi," which was sculpted 500 years ago and drifted to Taiwan from the sea. It serves as a guide for the moral education of the masses and points to a path of self-cultivation and refinement in accordance with Confucian teachings.
