Duliu Nansheng Temple Introduction
The largest wooden statue of Guan Yu in Taiwan is located at the Nan Sheng Gong, originally named Ci Xiu Tang. It belongs to the Luantan system of Fubi Jishi, with the main deities being Guan Di, Lü Zu, Zao Jun, Yue Wang, and Wang Ling Guan, collectively referred to by devotees as the Five Holy Blessings. The statue of Guan Yu, which guards the temple, is carved from camphor wood, standing at over 3.6 meters tall and weighing more than 600 kilograms, making it a rare sight in Taiwan. The old temple of Nan Sheng Gong dates back to the 50th year of the Republic of China, and it was relocated to its current site in the 66th year, honoring the "Guan Ye" statue that was carved 500 years ago and drifted to Taiwan from the sea. It serves as a guiding principle based on Confucian teachings, enlightening the masses about religion and directing them toward a path of self-cultivation.
