Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Museum (Jiefa Qianji Tea House) Introduction
The Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Museum features a stunning fusion of Han, Japanese, and Western architectural styles. Originally the JieFa Tea House owned by the Hsu family, it was later generously donated for use by local arts groups and community universities. This traditional three-part building consists of a tea shop, a hall, and a courtyard, making it a classic structure that beautifully integrates these three architectural characteristics. In 2002, with the consent of the Hsu family, the Luoyang Cultural Education Foundation moved into the old JieFa Tea House, establishing the "Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Museum" with support from the Ministry of Culture as a base for cultural revitalization and community activation. Since then, the JieFa Tea House has transformed into a venue for the cultural renaissance of Xiluo. In 2007, the JieFa Tea House was designated as a historical building. With combined funding from the Ministry of Culture, Yunlin County Government, fundraising by the Luoyang Cultural Education Foundation, and contributions from the Hsu family, it took 11 years to renovate and reopen the venue in August 2013, showcasing its complete and vibrant appearance. The Luoyang Cultural Education Foundation continues to operate the "Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Museum" and the "Xiluo Tourism Service Center." For over a century, JieFa Tea House has stood steadfastly on Xiluo Street, allowing the historical culture of Xiluo to continue and evolve. The JieFa Tea House, under Hsu JieFa's legacy and the spirit of good deeds and pioneering efforts of the builder Hsu Jinsheng, continues to carry the mission of cultural inheritance and regeneration in Xiluo. - Provides free audio guides - Hosts cultural events and promotes cultural activities - Guided tours (appointment required) - Offers tourism consultation services, guidebooks, and event promotional materials.
