228 Memorial Monument Introduction
The February 28 Incident is one of the most significant events in Taiwan's modern history. The first February 28 Memorial Park in the Jiayi-Nan region symbolizes ethnic integration. After more than two years of planning and construction, it was completed and opened on February 28, 1996, exactly forty-nine years after the February 28 Incident occurred in 1947, evoking deep gratitude and endless sorrow.
