Zai Geng Garden - Dragonfly Glass Workshop Introduction
The "Zai Geng Yuan" in Chiayi City is a comprehensive park for individuals with disabilities, managed by Chiayi Christian Hospital on behalf of the Chiayi City Government. Within the park’s "Tōrō Tamadukuri" workshop, artisans who have undergone a year of rigorous training in glass bead crafting create a variety of products. This creative space was established with financial support from the Chiayi City Government and the Council of Labor Affairs. The Tōrō Tamadukuri workshop actively develops new products and combines its creations with the imagery of "Taiwan's Kyoto" from the Chiayi City Government, successfully promoting Zai Geng Yuan's glass creations internationally and becoming a representative of Chiayi’s craft, known as the "Pearl of Chiayi." Currently, five artisans (individuals with disabilities) are developing a range of jewelry and gifts in the workshop, and have recently succeeded in creating products such as signed pens, necklaces, earrings, pins, and picture frames made from glass materials, which are now officially available for order and sale. The site was built by the Chiayi City Government through the management of Chiayi Christian Hospital.
