Yijudong/Liu's Dumplings Introduction
Located in Yonghe's Korean Street, Yi Ju Dong/Liu's Dumplings was founded by Liu Chongzi and his wife, who hail from Weihai, Shandong. In 1947, at just 19 years old, they traveled from their hometown to Korea and then to Taiwan. Utilizing the skills they learned back home and mingling with fellow villagers, they opened "Yi Ju Dong Bakery" in 1955. Later, the second generation, Liu Degang and his wife, took over the business and began selling Northeastern stir-fried dishes, noodles, and dumplings. They have received high praise from food writer Zhu Zhenfan for their popular Shandong roast chicken, three-flavor fried sauce noodles, plump dumplings, and stir-fried ma-mian. Their food is not only favored by the media but also evokes nostalgic flavors for those from Shandong.
