Yijudong / Liu Family Dumplings

Taipei Foods

Located in Yonghe's Korean Street, Yi Ju Dong / Liu's Dumplings was founded by Liu Chongzhi and his wife, who hailed from Weihai, Shandong. At just 19 years old in 1947, they crossed over to Korea from their hometown before eventually settling in Taiwan. Utilizing the culinary skills they learned back home and collaborating with fellow townsmen, they opened "Yi Ju Dong Bakery" in 1955. The second generation, Liu Degang and his wife, took over the business, adding Northern-style stir-fried dishes, noodles, and dumplings to the menu. Renowned food writer Zhu Zhenfan has praised their popular dishes, including Shandong-style roast chicken, three-flavor fried sauce noodles, plump dumplings, and fried flat noodles. Not only is the restaurant favored by media, but it also retains the nostalgic flavors cherished by the Shandong community.
