Located in Yonghe Korean Street, Yi Ju Dong / Liu's Dumplings was established by Liu Chongzi and his wife, who hailed from Weihai, Shandong. At just 19 years old in 1947, they crossed over to Korea from their hometown and then arrived in Taiwan. Utilizing the skills they learned back home and collaborating with fellow townspeople, they opened "Yi Ju Dong Bakery" in 1955. The second generation, led by Liu Degang and his wife, took over the business and began offering Northern-style stir-fries, noodles, dumplings, and more. Food writer Zhu Zhenfan has praised their popular dishes like Shandong roasted chicken, three-flavor fried sauce noodles, plump dumplings, and stir-fried noodles, which are not only beloved by the media but also evoke nostalgic flavors for Shandong uncles.
