Yih Ju Dong / Liu's Dumplings

Taipei Foods

Located in Yonghe's Korean Street, Yi Ju Dong/Liu Family Dumplings was founded by Liu Chongzi and his wife, who originated from Weihai, Shandong. At just 19 years old in 1947, the couple crossed the sea to Korea and then moved to Taiwan. Utilizing the skills they learned from their hometown and exchanging ideas with fellow villagers, they opened "Yi Ju Dong Bakery" in 1955. The restaurant was later taken over by the second generation, Liu Degang and his wife, who also began selling Northern-style stir-fried dishes, noodles, and dumplings. Their popular dishes, including Shandong-style roasted chicken, three-flavor fried sauce noodles, plump dumplings, and stir-fried noodles, have received acclaim from food writers like Zhu Zhenfan. The media loves to cover them, and they evoke nostalgic flavors for many from Shandong.
