Yi Ju Dong / Liu's Dumplings Introduction
Located on Korean Street in Yonghe, Yi Jyu Dong / Liu's Dumplings was founded by Liu Chongzi and his wife, who originated from Weihai, Shandong. In 1947, when they were just 19 years old, they traveled from their hometown to South Korea and then to Taiwan. With the skills learned from their hometown and the exchange with fellow townspeople, they opened "Yi Jyu Dong Bakery" in 1955. The second generation, Liu Degang and his wife, who took over the business at the same age as the shop, began selling Northern-style stir-fry, noodles, dumplings, and more. They received high praise from food writer Zhu Zhenfan, and their popular dishes such as Shandong-style roast chicken, three-flavor fried noodle with sauce, plump dumplings, and fried noodle with stir-fried ingredients are not only favored by the media but also evoke the nostalgic flavors cherished by Shandong uncles.
