Located on the Korean Street in Yonghe, Yijudong/Liu’s Dumplings was founded by Liu Chongzi and his wife, who were originally from Weihai, Shandong. In 1947, at the young age of 19, the couple first traveled to Korea and then to Taiwan. With the skills learned from their hometown and local culinary exchanges, they opened "Yijudong Bakery" in 1955. The second generation, Liu Degang and his wife, took over the business, expanding the menu to include Northern-style stir-fried dishes, noodles, dumplings, and more. The restaurant has received high praise from food writer Zhu Zhenfan, and their popular dishes such as Shandong fried chicken, three-flavored炸醬麵, hearty dumplings, and fried noodles have not only attracted media attention but also evoke nostalgic flavors for those from Shandong.
