Da'an Forest Park Introduction

Daan Forest Park is located in the Daan District, in the city center, covering an area of 25.9293 hectares and is known as the "Lung of the City." The main entrance plaza of the park features densely planted flowerbeds, foliage plants, and integrates a statue area of Buddha along with a bamboo forest area to the south (which includes species such as gourd bamboo, green bamboo, golden silk bamboo, fragrant bamboo, and square bamboo) to create a distinctive garden landscape. On the northwest side of the park, there is a natural pond covering 0.7 hectares, surrounded by and including an island with plants such as golden dewberry, red leaf hibiscus, canna lily, and soft-stemmed golden cicada, adorned with climbing philodendron on the rocky walls of the island. Koi fish swim in the pond, often attracting visitors to stop by and enjoy the view for a long time. In the center of the park, there is an open-air music stage with a natural undulating design, capable of accommodating nearly a thousand spectators, making it a hub for cultural and artistic performances in Taipei City. Surrounding the music stage is a fragrant flower area planted with magnolias, gardenias, tulip trees, sweet osmanthus, and other aromatic plants, filling the air with delightful scents, while also serving as an accessible recreational area. To the southeast of the park, visitors can find palm trees with a tropical flavor, including royal palm, Alexander palm, bottle palm, and peacock palm, making one feel as if they are in a tropical coconut grove. The park is traversed by two main paths running east to west and one path running north to south, lined with trees and shrubs along the way, with flowerbeds embellishing the scenery. The park’s design focuses on a forest theme, providing visitors with pleasant greenery, several pavilions, and resting spots. Along Jingguo South Road, the park is planted with bougainvillea, which bursts into colorful blooms that resemble ribbons enhancing the park’s beauty. Daan Forest Park, located in the city center, attracts a constant flow of visitors daily, particularly in the morning and at dusk, when nearby residents flock to enjoy activities such as exercising, walking, dancing, and playing. The park includes a children's playground and features an underground parking lot with two levels, accommodating small vehicles to alleviate parking issues for distant visitors. In the bustling, heavily polluted, and “urban heat island” affected Taipei City, this 26-hectare purely recreational "urban forest" park serves as a refreshing "lung of the city," purifying the air, reducing noise, and regulating temperature. Visitors can enjoy flowers, appreciate performances at the music stage, experience a "forest bath" for relaxation, and stroll through the park, enjoying the beautiful scenery and maximizing the park's facilities.
