Da'an Forest Park Introduction

Da'an Forest Park is located in the Da'an District, in the city center, covering an area of 25.9293 hectares, and is known as the "Lung of the City." The main entrance plaza features densely planted flower beds and ornamental plants, along with a statue area of Buddha and a bamboo grove to the south (which includes varieties such as gourda bamboo, green bamboo, golden-thread bamboo, fragrant bamboo, and square bamboo), creating a distinctive garden landscape. On the northwest side of the park, there is a natural pond that covers 0.7 hectares, surrounded by islands planted with golden shower, red-leaf amaranth, canna lily, and soft-stemmed yellow cicada, adorned with climbing ivy on the rocky walls of the islands, where koi fish swim and play, often attracting visitors to linger by the pond. At the center of the park, there is an open-air music stage with a natural sloped design, accommodating nearly a thousand spectators, making it a significant venue for cultural performances in Taipei. Surrounding the music stage are fragrant flower areas featuring magnolia, gardenia, sweet osmanthus, and other aromatic plants, which fill the air with delightful scents, also serving as an accessible leisure area within the park. In the southeastern part of the park, you can find palm trees that give a tropical feel, with species such as royal palm, Alexander palm, bottle palm, and peacock palm, making you feel as if you are in a tropical palm grove. The park is traversed by two main paths running east-west and one north-south, lined with trees and shrubs, interspersed with flower beds to enhance the park's landscape. The park is constructed with a forest theme, providing visitors with refreshing greenery, several pavilions, and rest areas. Along Zhongxiao East Road, the dancing cypress trees bloom with colorful flowers, resembling colorful ribbons that add to the park's beauty. Due to its central location, Da'an Forest Park attracts numerous visitors daily, especially in the morning and during sunset, drawing nearby residents for exercise, walks, dances, and play. The park has a children's playground and an underground parking lot with two levels, accommodating compact cars, alleviating parking difficulties for visitors. Amidst the congestion, severe pollution, and "urban heat island effect" in Taipei, this 26-hectare purely recreational "urban forest" park serves as a refreshing "lung of the city," purifying the air, reducing noise, and regulating temperature. Visitors can enjoy flower viewing and music performances, experience "forest bathing" for relaxation, and stroll through the park, appreciating the beautiful scenery and maximizing the park's functions.
