Da'an Forest Park Introduction

Daan Forest Park is located in the Daan District, situated in the city center, covering an area of 25.9293 hectares, and is renowned as the "Lung of the City." The main entrance square of the park features densely planted flowerbeds with grasses and ornamental plants, integrated with a Buddha sculpture area and a bamboo grove area to the south (which includes species such as gourds bamboo, green bamboo, golden thread bamboo, sweet bamboo, and square bamboo), creating a unique garden landscape. There is a natural pond on the northwest side of the park, covering 0.7 hectares, surrounded by island plants such as golden trumpet vine, red-leafed amaranth, canna lily, and soft-stemmed yellow cicada, adorned with climbing ferns on the island's rocky walls, where koi fish swim, often attracting visitors to linger by the pond. In the center of the park, there is an open-air music stage with a natural sloping design that can accommodate nearly a thousand spectators, establishing it as a cultural and artistic hub of Taipei. Surrounding the music stage, aromatic plants like magnolia, gardenia, and sweet osmanthus are planted, creating a fragrant atmosphere, making this area an accessible recreational zone. In the southeastern part of the park, visitors can find tropical palm trees, including royal palm, Alexander palm, bottle palm, and peacock palm, making one feel as though they are walking through a tropical palm forest. The park is traversed by two main paths running east to west and one main path running north to south, lined with trees and shrubs, and decorated with flowerbeds to enhance the park's landscape. The design of the park emphasizes a forest theme, providing a visual and recreational sanctuary complete with several pavilions for visitors to rest. Along the Jhongjheng South Road, there are also firecracker plants that bloom in vibrant colors, resembling ribbons linking to the park's beautiful scenery. Due to its central location, Daan Forest Park attracts numerous visitors daily, especially in the morning and at sunset, with local residents coming to engage in activities like exercising, walking, dancing, and playing. The park also features a children's playground and a two-level underground parking garage for small vehicles to alleviate parking difficulties for distant visitors. In the crowded, heavily polluted Taipei City, where the "heat island effect" leads to high temperatures, this 26-hectare pure recreational "urban forest" park serves as a refreshing "Lung of the City," helping to purify the air, reduce noise, and regulate temperature. Visitors can enjoy the sight of flowers, appreciate performances at the music stage, indulge in "forest bathing," and stroll through the park, experiencing its breathtaking scenery and realizing its fullest potential.
