Da'an Forest Park Introduction

Daan Forest Park is located in the Daan District, in the city center, covering an area of 25.9293 hectares and is known as the "Lung of the City." The main entrance plaza features densely planted flower beds and ornamental foliage plants, combined with a Buddha statue area and a bamboo grove area to the south (planted with gourd bamboo, green bamboo, golden silk bamboo, sweet bamboo, and square bamboo) creating a uniquely landscaped garden. On the northwest side of the park, there is a natural pond with an area of 0.7 hectares, surrounded by islands planted with golden dew drops, red-leafed amaranth, canna lilies, and soft twig yellow cicada, adorned with ivy that clings to the rocky banks of the islands, where koi fish swim, often attracting visitors to linger by the water. In the center of the park is an open-air music stage with a natural undulating design, accommodating nearly a thousand spectators, making it a central hub for cultural performances in Taipei. Surrounding the music stage is a fragrant flower area planted with magnolia, gardenia, Philippine violet, scented olive, and osmanthus, filling the air with a pleasant aroma and providing an accessible leisure area in the park. To the southeast of the park, one can see palm trees with a tropical flair, including Royal palms, Alexander palms, bottle palms, and Peacock palms, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a tropical palm grove. The park is traversed by two main paths running east-west and one running north-south, lined with trees and shrubs, decorated with flowerbeds to enhance the park's landscape. The park is constructed around a forest theme, providing beautiful greenery for visitors to enjoy along with several pavilions and rest areas for relaxation. Along Jhongjheng South Road, there are orange trumpet vines that bloom in a colorful display, adding to the park's beauty. Due to its central location, Daan Forest Park attracts a constant flow of visitors daily, especially in the morning and at sunset, drawing nearby residents for exercise, walking, dancing, and enjoying leisure activities. The park has a children's playground and an underground parking lot spanning two levels for small vehicles, alleviating parking problems for distant visitors. In the crowded, heavily polluted, and "urban heat island effect"-affected Taipei City, this 26-hectare purely recreational "urban forest" park serves as a refreshing "Lung of the City," purifying the air, reducing noise, and regulating temperature. Visitors can enjoy flowers, admire performances at the music stage, indulge in "forest bathing" to refresh their bodies and minds, and explore the picturesque surroundings, maximizing the park's functions.
