Jincheng Japanese Dormitory Cluster Introduction
The Jin Town Japanese Dormitory Complex is a group of middle-class official residences built during the Japanese colonial period in Jin Town, Taipei City, approximately in the Shōwa era. The Japanese dormitories of Jin Town belonged to the Forestry Division of the Taiwan Governor-General's Office and were known as "Jin Town Rokuchōdō" at that time. The Jin Town Japanese Dormitory Complex is located at No. 84 and 86 Jinhua Street, No. 90 Jinhua Street, No. 33 and 35 Lane 61, Section 2, Hangzhou South Road, No. 37 and 39 Lane 61, Section 2, Hangzhou South Road, No. 43 Lane 61, Section 2, Hangzhou South Road, and No. 49 and 51 Lane 61, Section 2, Hangzhou South Road in the Daan District of Taipei City. The buildings in the entire area are arranged in a north-south direction, and the community is large and complete in layout. According to the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act, it has been registered as a "Historical Building in Taipei City." The spatial layout of the Jin Town Japanese Dormitory Complex follows the style of Japanese residential architecture, featuring exterior characteristics such as bamboo mud walls with rain-protective boards, wooden truss structures, and roofs covered with traditional Japanese black tiles.
