Jin Town Japanese Dormitory Cluster Introduction
The Jinmen Japanese Dormitory Complex is a medium-class official residence group built during the Japanese colonial period in the Jinmen area of Taipei City, with construction dating back to the Showa era. The Japanese dormitories in Jinmen belonged to the Forestry Department of the Taiwan Governor-General's Office and were referred to as "Jinmen Six-Block Street" at the time. The Jinmen Japanese Dormitory Complex is located at 84 and 86 Jinhua Street, 90 Jinhua Street, No. 33 and 35, Lane 61, Section 2, Hanzhou South Road, No. 37 and 39, Lane 61, Section 2, Hanzhou South Road, No. 43, Lane 61, Section 2, Hanzhou South Road, No. 49 and 51 in Taipei City's Daan District. The overall architectural layout is oriented north-south, and the complex is large, with an intact overall arrangement. According to the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act, it has been registered as a "Historical Building of Taipei City." The spatial layout of the Jinmen Japanese Dormitory Complex follows the style of Japanese residences, characterized by mud walls covered with rainproof panels, wooden trusses for the roof structure, and traditional Japanese black tiles for the roofing.
