Bihu Park Introduction

After getting off at Wende Station on the Dahu Line, turn into Wende Road Lane 101 and walk about 200 meters to see the lake surrounded by lush mountains; this is Bihu Park. Bihu Park is located at No. 175, Section 2, Neihu Road, Neihu District, Taipei City, near the National Taiwan University of Arts, covering an area of more than 13 hectares. The main lake in the park, Lake Dapei, spans about 8 hectares and was once a source of irrigation for agriculture. Hidden in the Neihu District, Bihu Park serves as a backyard for residents and is one of only two water landscape parks in Taipei with a large lake. The park, nestled between mountains and water, features a serene environment with rolling hills and a beautiful lake, creating a harmonious visual experience that often leaves a deep impression on visitors. Since its establishment in 1987, the park has seen the completion of various facilities, including the beautification of the eastern green space along the lake, the addition of a Chinese-style pavilion, an arch bridge, and a lakeside promenade. The shores of the lake are planted with various ornamental plants such as fringe trees, willows, bald cypress, white thousand layers, tabebuia, phoenix trees, hibiscus, azaleas, and ice plants. In spring and summer, colorful butterflies flit about, and the scenery of the lake and mountains is breathtaking. The park has a management center (commonly referred to as the Little White House), with a reading room on the first floor available for public use, along with one children's playground, one tennis court, and one swimming pool. Fishing zones are planned along the lakeshore, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery and engage in recreational activities such as fishing. Additionally, there are six hiking trails that lead up the mountain, shaded by dense foliage, with pavilions nestled within, creating a tranquil environment. Standing at the mountain's peak offers a panoramic view of the beautiful Bihu landscape, making it an ideal place for recreation, hiking, and relaxation for the public.
