Bihu Park Introduction
After getting off at Wende Station on the Dahu Line, turn into Lane 101 of Wend Road and walk about 200 meters to see the large lake surrounded by lush mountains; this is Bihu Park. Bihu Park is located at No. 175, Section 2, Neihu Road, Neihu District, Taipei City, near the National Taiwan University of Arts. Covering an area of over 13 hectares, the park's "Dazhu Lake" spans approximately 8 hectares and was once a source of irrigation water for agriculture. Nestled in the Neihu District, Bihu Park serves not only as a garden for local residents but also as one of the only two water parks in Taipei featuring a large lake. The park is situated by the mountains and water, offering a harmonious environment of rolling hills and serene lake views, often leaving a deep impression on visitors with its tranquil beauty. Since its establishment in 1987, the park has progressively completed the beautification of the green area on the east side of the lake, constructed a Chinese-style pavilion, a winding bridge, and a lakeside walkway. The lake's shores are planted with various ornamental plants such as tassel, willow, bald cypress, white-stemmed eucalypt, royal poinciana, hibiscus, azalea, and dwarf periwinkle. In spring and summer, colorful butterflies flutter around, enhancing the picturesque scenery of the lake and mountains. The park includes a management center (commonly referred to as the "Little White House"), where the first-floor reading room is available for public use, along with a children's playground, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. The nearby lakeside area is designated for fishing, allowing visitors to enjoy both the park's scenery and recreational activities such as fishing. Additionally, there are six hiking trails leading up to the mountains, where thick canopies provide shade, and pavilions are nestled in a tranquil environment. From the mountain peak, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Bihu, making it an ideal spot for recreation, hiking, and relaxation. Source: Neihu District Office website.
