Bihu Park Introduction

After getting off at the Wende Station on the Dahu Line of the Taipei Metro, turn into Lane 101, Wend Road, and go about 200 meters to see the Dahu Lake surrounded by lush hills, which is known as Bihou Park. Bihou Park is located at No. 175, Section 2, Neihu Road, Neihu District, Taipei City, near the National Taiwan University of Arts, covering an area of over 13 hectares. The "Dapeihu" within the park occupies approximately 8 hectares and was once a source of irrigation water for agriculture. Nestled in the Neihu District, Bihou Park serves as a backyard for local residents and is one of the two water parks in Taipei with a large lake. The park is beautifully integrated with its mountainous and watery surroundings, where visitors are often left with a lasting impression of its tranquil beauty. Since its establishment in 1987, various facilities have been added, including beautification of the eastern lakeside green space, construction of a Chinese-style pavilion, a winding bridge, and a lakeside walking path. The surrounding lake shore is planted with ornamental plants such as willow, bald cypress, white thousand layers, flamboyant trees, hibiscus, azaleas, and dwarf jades, creating a vibrant scene with butterflies fluttering in spring and summer. The park features a management center (commonly referred to as the Little White House) with a reading room on the first floor available for public use, as well as a children's playground, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. There is also a designated fishing area along the lakeshore, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery while engaging in leisure activities like fishing. Additionally, there are six hiking trails that lead up into the mountains, where dense shade can be found, with pavilions hidden within the trees. The serene environment provides an ideal location for recreation, hiking, and relaxation, offering stunning views of Bihou. Source: Neihu District Office website.
