Jiancheng Circle Introduction
In the development history of the old town area of Taipei City, "Jiancheng Roundabout" plays an important role. Its establishment was like the heart of the Dadaocheng bustling area, located at the convergence of four roads: Chongqing North Road, Nanjing West Road, Ningxia Road, and Tianshui Road. It not only promoted the local economic prosperity, extending to the surrounding old town area, but also served as a cradle for many successful entrepreneurs. After several historical changes, from the discovery of the Dadaocheng Roundabout air-raid water reservoir relic during the foundation excavation of the reconstruction project in 2002 to the Jiancheng Roundabout that holds many culinary memories for many people. Today, Jiancheng Roundabout has transformed into an urban oasis. In addition to preserving the original ancient well, there will be the creation of a fountain resting area and an urban shaded plaza. It will also incorporate four public art pieces donated by a foundation to commemorate the past and look forward to the future, allowing busy citizens to cultivate their body and mind through art, enhancing cultural dialogue with the community, and providing spaces for resting, playing, and reminiscing, contributing to the prosperity and development of the West District.
