Office of the Taiwan Provincial Political Construction Association (Old Site) Introduction
After the outbreak of the 228 Incident, the Taiwan Provincial Political Construction Association actively coordinated between the government and the public and participated in handling committees. On March 8, the association issued a "Letter to Fellow Compatriots," proposing principles and guidelines for political reform. After the suppression began, the authorities arrested and killed association members under the pretext of being part of a communist organization and inciting rebellion among the populace. The association's office was located on the second floor of the Sanmin Bookstore at No. 2, Section 2, Yanping North Road, Datong District, Taipei City, with the bookstore on the first floor. Jiang Wei-chuan was also listed as a target for arrest for his involvement in assisting the Governor-General's Office in mediating the handling of the 228 Incident.
