Taiwan Provincial Association of Political Construction Office (Former Site) Introduction
After the outbreak of the February 28 Incident, the Taiwan Provincial Political Construction Association actively coordinated between the government and the public and participated in the handling committee. On March 8, the association issued a "Letter to Fellow Countrymen," proposing principles and guidelines for political reform. Following the start of the suppression, the authorities arrested and killed association members, justifying their actions by accusing them of being part of a communist organization and inciting rebellion among the people. The association's office was located on the second floor of the Sanmin Bookstore at No. 3, Section 2, Yanping North Road, Datong District, Taipei City, while the Sanmin Bookstore operated on the first floor. Jiang Wei-chuan was also targeted for arrest for his involvement in assisting the Governor-General's Office in mediating the February 28 Incident.
