Breezy Canal Introduction
Breeze Canal is an international-level competition-specific waterway currently managed and maintained by the New Taipei City Government's High Sand Area Engineering Management Office. It has a total length of 1,200 meters, a width of 140 meters, and a depth of up to 3 meters, divided into 8 lanes. The channels are 13.5 meters wide and meet international standards, allowing for the hosting of international rowing competitions and canoe sprint events. In addition to serving athletes and students, some calm water areas are also open to the general public for activities such as windsurfing, surfing, and kayaking. 1. The activity range for water sports on Breeze Canal: The total length of Breeze Canal is 1,250 meters, a width of 140 meters, and a depth of 3.5 meters. The activities permitted in the water are categorized into two major types: the first category includes recreational activities available for public experience (kayaking, surfing, and water skiing); the second category includes competitive training activities for athletes (competitive kayaking, Western-style rowing, and dragon boat racing). The recreational activity range is as follows: the kayaking experience area is from -100 to 0 meters, the surfing experience area is from 0 to 500 meters, and the water skiing experience area is from 500 meters to 1,000 meters. The competitive activity range is from 0 to 1,000 meters. 2. Activity usage hours at Breeze Canal: The usage hours are divided into daylight saving time (April to October) and standard time (November to March). During daylight saving time, the competitive training hours for athletes are from 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM and from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, while the recreational usage hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. During standard time, the competitive training hours are from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with recreational usage hours from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. 3. Related services and regulations for water activities at Breeze Canal: A water activity center is located under Chenglu Bridge to manage water area usage, assist with public insurance and equipment rental, and provide restrooms and changing rooms for the public and athletes. Before participating in water activities at Breeze Canal, individuals must visit the water activity center to arrange for insurance and wear life jackets before entering the water. Users must also comply with the designated usage areas and hours. Long-term training organizations must apply to the New Taipei City Government's High Sand Area Engineering Management Office for permission to use the facilities, and on-site coaching supervision is required for training activities.
