Breeze Canal Introduction
The Breeze Canal is an international-level competition-specific waterway, currently managed and maintained by the New Taipei City Government's High Bank Engineering Management Office. It is 1,200 meters long, 140 meters wide, and 3 meters deep, divided into 8 lanes with a width of 13.5 meters, meeting international standards for hosting international rowing and kayaking sprint competitions. In addition to serving athletes and students, some areas of calm water are also open to the public for activities like sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, and kayaking. 1. Scope of water activities at Breeze Canal: The Breeze Canal is 1,250 meters long, 140 meters wide, and 3.5 meters deep. The activities allowed in the water are divided into two main categories: the first category is recreational activities for the public (kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing); the second category is competitive activities for athletes (sprint kayaking, Western-style rowing, dragon boat racing). The recreational activity zones are as follows: the kayaking experience area is from -100 to 0 meters, the windsurfing experience area is from 0 to 500 meters, and the water skiing experience area is from 500 meters to 1,000 meters. The competitive activity zone is from 0 meters to 1,000 meters. 2. Activity usage times at Breeze Canal: The operating hours for water activities at Breeze Canal are divided into summer time (April to October) and winter time (November to March). During summer, the training hours for competitive athletes are from 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM and from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM; the recreational usage time is from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. In winter, the training hours for competitive athletes are from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM; the recreational usage time is from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. 3. Related services and regulations for water activities at Breeze Canal: Under the Changlu Bridge is a water activity center that manages water usage, assists with public insurance, and provides equipment rental. It also has washroom and changing facilities for both the public and athletes. Before participating in activities at the Breeze Canal, the public must go to the water activity center to arrange insurance and wear life jackets. Additionally, they must comply with usage regulations regarding the area and times. Long-term training organizations must apply to the New Taipei City Government's High Bank Engineering Management Office for usage, and there must be a coach supervising on-site for training in the water.
