Shezi Island Wetland Introduction

The wetlands at Shezi Island Head, as the name suggests, are located at the confluence of the Keelung River and the Tamsui River. Although the area is only 1 hectare, it truly offers a great view! This island head was created by the Taipei City Government using soil excavated from the Keelung River, forming a beach where lush green grass covers the ground, along with stone paths and wooden boardwalks for easier access to the viewing platform. The platform is always crowded with anglers, and it is an excellent spot for observing the confluence of the Keelung River and Tamsui River as they flow into the sea. Spanning a 270-degree view, looking to the right reveals the bustling Guandu Temple and the impressive Guandu Bridge, while to the left, one can see the majestic Guanyin Mountain, sometimes graced by little egrets flying by, creating a picturesque landscape! On the left side of the platform is a dense mangrove wetland that resonates with the Guandu Nature Park wetland across the river. During low tide, the wetlands reveal fiddler crabs peeking out, composing an ecological symphony of the mangrove forest.
