Taiwan Presbyterian Church - Zhongshan Church Introduction
Zhongshan Church is a Christian church built by the Japanese. The main gate's archway is engraved with "March 1937 Foundation Stone." It was originally a church of the Nippon Seikōkai (the Episcopal Church of Japan) known as Taisho Town Church, serving the Japanese Christian congregation living in the Taisho Street area at that time. The exterior is designed in the Gothic style, reminiscent of English cathedrals. From a high vantage point, the church's roof can be seen in the shape of a cross, with pointed arches, corner stones of the roof truss, and buttresses, all of which are well-preserved and hold architectural value.
