Ding Tai Shan Rock Introduction
Ding Tai Mountain Temple was built in the 19th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1754) and is the oldest temple in the Taishan area, currently listed as a national historic site of grade three. The most recent renovation took place during the Japanese occupation in the Showa era, designed and planned by the master craftsman Chen Ying-bin. The architectural layout features a double courtyard and double protective dragons, while the internal wood carvings, stone sculptures, and painted decorations are exquisitely detailed, showcasing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and rich in auspicious meanings. The main deity of Ding Tai Mountain Temple is Xianying Ancestor, and a grand celebration is held annually on September 18th to honor the anniversary of the ancestor's birth. Nearby, there is a trail called Qitous Trail, which is a famous ancient path in Taishan, leading to Yixue Keng and Mingzhi Academy, allowing visitors to enjoy the cultural heritage of Taishan.
