Ding Tai Shan Rock Introduction
Dingtai Mountain Rock Temple was built in the 19th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1754) and is the oldest temple in the Taishan area, currently designated as a national third-grade historic site. The most recent renovation took place during the Japanese colonial period, planned and designed by the master craftsman Chen Ying-bin and his apprentices. The architectural layout features a two-entrance, two-corridor design with double protective dragons, and the interior is adorned with exquisite wooden carvings, stone carvings, and paintings, showcasing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and rich auspicious meanings. Dingtai Mountain Rock Temple mainly enshrines Xianying Ancestor Master, and an annual grand celebration is held on September 18 to honor the birthday of the master. Nearby is the Qitou Trail, a famous ancient path in Taishan, which also leads to Yixue Keng and Mingzhi Academy, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of Taishan's cultural heritage.
