Jinbaoli Old Street Introduction

Jinbaoli Old Street, commonly known as Jincheng Old Street, is always bustling with people during weekends, attracting numerous visitors and thriving businesses. Various local snacks, such as pork belly and oyster fritters, as well as Jinshan specialties like taro cakes and baked sweet potatoes, are quite famous. At the heart of the old street, the Guangan Temple is home to the most popular duck meat stall, and the self-service dining culture has formed a unique local scene. "Jincheng Old Street" is the only old commercial street from the Qing Dynasty along the North Coast. During the Qing Dynasty, the street was as prosperous as today's commercial cities, serving as a hub of commercial activities. A stroll through the old street reveals many traces of its past glory, with a few remaining old houses next to the Cihu Temple, which were once "street houses" featuring traditional long, continuous-style shop residences with both Fujian-style architecture and Western-style facades, as well as narrow depth pavilions. Nearby, there is also a traditional Chinese medicine shop, where the timeworn furniture and displayed medicine jars still retain remnants of the Qing Dynasty. Although the days of prosperity are now past, thanks to comprehensive preservation plans, the tourist walking area of the old street is adorned with drainage covers engraved with the unique characteristics of Jinbaoli Old Street, aiming to surprise visitors and allow them to reminisce about the past grandeur while savoring the nostalgic scenery of this historic street.
