Jinbaoli Old Street Introduction
Jinbaoli Old Street, commonly known as Jinshan Old Street, is usually bustling with people and tourists on weekends. The local shops thrive, offering a variety of local snacks such as braised pork rice and oyster omelets, as well as Jinshan specialties like taro cakes and roasted sweet potatoes. The most popular duck stall is located at the Guang'an Temple in the center of the old street, where the self-service dish culture forms a unique local landscape. "Jinshan Old Street" is the only commercial old street from the Qing Dynasty on the north coast. During the Qing Dynasty, the old street was as prosperous as modern commercial cities, serving as a hub for bustling commercial activities. A stroll down the street reveals many traces of its glorious past, with a few old houses remaining near the Ci Hu Temple, representing the traditional "street houses." These long, continuous shop residences feature Minnan-style architecture and Western-style facades, alongside narrow, deeper storefronts. There is also a traditional Chinese medicine shop nearby, with furniture and display jars that reflect the remnants of the Qing Dynasty. Although the prosperous scene has become a thing of the past, with comprehensive preservation planning, the tourist walking area of the old street is adorned with drainage covers decorated with features of Jinbaoli Old Street. This creative touch aims to provide visitors with more surprises and relive the glorious past, allowing everyone to savor the deep-rooted charm of this historic old street.
