Jinbaoli Old Street Introduction

Jinbaoli Old Street, commonly known as Jinshan Old Street, is always bustling with people and tourists on weekends. The shops thrive with business, and various local snacks such as braised pork and oyster crisps, along with Jinshan specialties like taro cakes and baked purple sweet potatoes, are quite famous. At the center of the old street, the Guanyin Temple hosts the most popular duck meat stall, and the self-service dish culture forms a unique local scene. "Jinshan Old Street" is the only Qing Dynasty commercial old street on the North Coast. During the Qing Dynasty, the street was as prosperous as today’s commercial cities, serving as a hub for bustling commercial activities. A stroll through the old street reveals many remnants of its historical splendor, with a few remaining old houses next to Cihu Temple, which are the former "street houses" – traditional long, row-style shops combined with residences, featuring Min-style architecture and Western facades, along with narrow-depth pavilions. Nearby is a traditional Chinese medicine shop, showcasing furniture and displayed medicine jars that reflect the echoes of the Qing Dynasty. Although the prosperous scene has become a thing of the past, the old street has been well-preserved, with the pedestrian area paved with creatively designed drainage covers featuring Jinbaoli Old Street's characteristics. This thoughtful detail aims to bring more surprises to visitors and relive the glorious past, allowing them to savor the rich historical ambiance of this old street.
