Shazhoutou Mountain Fortress (Sizihwan) Introduction
The path to the bunker entrance is approximately 50 meters long and follows a zigzag shape. The viewing platform is creatively built around a World War II machine gun bunker and can accommodate about 40 people. It offers a distant view of the Dagou British Consulate Cultural Park's hillside residence and allows visitors to appreciate the scenery of Shoushan, as well as a distant view of the 85 Sky Tower, Kaohsiung Harbor, and Cijin Island. Additionally, it provides a view of the architectural landscape of Hama Star, blending old and new, while feeling the sea breeze of Xiziwan and immersing in the taste of history. The viewing platform and pathway are illuminated, making it an ideal spot to enjoy the sunset over the harbor in the evening, which presents a unique charm. "Shaochuantou Mountain," commonly known as "Jilongzi Mountain," stands at an elevation of 25 meters. The bunker at Shaochuantou Mountain is believed to have been built during the Japanese occupation around 1944, near the end of the Pacific War, and was constructed around the same time as the anti-aircraft artillery group along the Siwenhou Trail. After years of neglect, it had become overgrown in the forest. The Kaohsiung City Government's Tourism Bureau has made efforts to develop military tourism attractions. After two years of planning and construction, the long-forgotten historical site has been revived. Access can be made from the small park opposite Alley 30 on Anchuan Street in Gushan District, by following the scenic pathway to the Dagou British Consulate residence, and it takes less than a minute to reach.
