West Coast Port Line Bike Path Introduction
The former freight railway of the Kaohsiung Port Line, which once played a crucial role in the economy of Kaohsiung for nearly half a century, has been transformed into the West Port Line Bicycle Path after relieving itself of its heavy responsibilities. Starting from Fisherman's Wharf and connecting to the Gushan Ferry Terminal in the north, and stretching to the Dream Mall business district along Kaixuan Road in the south, this six-kilometer bike path passes by popular attractions such as Banana Pier, the Railway Story Museum, the Pier-2 Art Center, Love Pier, the West Port Line Cross-River Railway Bridge, and Glory Pier. It links the scenic views of Kaohsiung Harbor with the urban green corridor, showcasing the grandeur of the harbor city alongside the beautiful scenery of the Love River. Biking along this route is the best way to experience the charm of the harbor city.
