Western Coast Highway Bike Path Introduction

The former freight railway of the Port Line, which once played a crucial role in Kaohsiung's economy for nearly half a century, has been transformed into the West Port Line Bicycle Path after relinquishing its heavy responsibilities. The path stretches from the Fisherman's Wharf connecting to the Gushan Ferry Terminal in the north to the Dream Mall at Kaixuan Road in the south. This six-kilometer route passes by famous tourist attractions such as the Banana Wharf, the Railway Story Museum, the Pier-2 Art Center, the Love River and the West Port Line Cross-River Bridge, as well as the Glory Wharf. It connects the scenic coastal views of Kaohsiung Port with urban green corridors, allowing riders to experience the magnificent sights of the port city and the beautiful landscapes of the Love River. Riding a bicycle along this route is the best way to experience the charm of the port city.
