Martyrs' Shrine Introduction
The Kaohsiung Martyrs' Shrine, located at the southern foothills of Shoushan, was originally built by the Japanese as the "Konpira Shrine." After several renovations, it has been enhanced with a mountain gate, main hall, front hall, and surrounding corridors, adorned with traditional Chinese palace-style golden glazed tiles, exuding a solemn and grand atmosphere. The area around the shrine is filled with ancient pines, creating a tranquil environment, while lush greenery and antique charm define the area in front of the shrine. In recent years, the city government has also installed a LOVE viewing platform next to the shrine, adding a romantic giant installation art piece that complements the strong aura of the Martyrs' Shrine with a touch of softness. From the elevated platform, visitors can enjoy the majestic views of the harbor city, making it a popular spot for photography, leisure walks, and experiencing the diverse beauty of Greater Kaohsiung during the day and night.
