Martyrs' Shrine Introduction
The Kaohsiung Martyrs' Shrine, located at the southern foot of Shoushan, was originally built by the Japanese as the "Kintai Shrine." After several renovations and modifications, it has added a mountain gate, a main hall, and a corridor pavilion, all adorned with traditional Chinese palace-style golden glazed tiles, creating a solemn and magnificent atmosphere. The Martyrs' Shrine is surrounded by ancient pine trees, providing a tranquil environment, while the lush greenery and antique charm in front of the shrine enhance its beauty. In recent years, the city government has also installed the LOVE viewing platform next to the Martyrs' Shrine. This romantic giant piece of installation art adds a touch of softness to the shrine's strong aura. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of the port city, making it a prime location for tourists to take photos, enjoy nature, and experience the different styles of Greater Kaohsiung day and night.
