Gangwei Shuntian Temple Introduction
The Dashi Rescue Emperor Temple, also known as the Zhu Gangwei Shun Tian Temple, is dedicated to the worship of Guanyin Shengdi (Lord Guan). It is said that during the Kangxi period, immigrants from Zhangzhou, Fujian, brought the deity to Taiwan and built the temple. After several renovations, the current appearance of the temple was established during its reconstruction in 1988. Every year on the 13th day of the fifth lunar month, locals celebrate the birthday of the Emperor with performances and rituals.
