Kenting Fireworks Festival Introduction
The Hengchun Lantern Festival, which has a history of over a hundred years, takes place every year after the Zhongyuan Festival at the East Gate of Hengchun. Its origins can be traced back to the wealthy residents of Hengchun Town, who would open the city gates during the Zhongyuan Festival. Many people suffered injuries or even lost their lives while competing for relief items, which led to the design of a competition to vie for the items placed on the "solitary shelves".
