Wushi Nose is located in Nanfangningpu Village, Changbin Township, Taitung County. It is a cape that extends into the sea and is the product of volcanic activity and lava eruptions, making it the largest columnar basalt formation in Taiwan. The area is covered with various tide pools and sea erosion channels. Residents come to collect sea snails and clams during low tide, making it a great opportunity not only for ecological observation but also to experience the cultural landscape of Changbin Township.

Wushi Harbor Introduction

Wushi Nose is located in Nanfangningpu Village, Changbin Township, extending into the sea as a cape. It is named for its resemblance to a person's nose protruding outward when viewed from a distance. The charming Wushi Nose features the largest columnar basalt formation in Taiwan, an exposed dark rock mass that is a product of volcanic activity and lava eruptions. The area surrounding Wushi Nose possesses a diverse intertidal ecosystem and coastal erosion topography. With rich plankton and fish in the nearby waters, it has become a paradise for rock fishing and diving along the east coast. Especially during February, the fishing season for white hair fish attracts numerous anglers lining the coast, each enjoying the pleasures of fishing.

Transportation Methods:Southbound: Take the Hualien Bus Haixian service from Hualien Railway Station to Chenggong, Taitung, and get off at Wushi Beach. Northbound: Take the Dingdong Bus or Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Haixian service from Taitung Railway Station to Jingpu and Hualien, and get off at Wushi Beach. Remarks:1. During typhoon or heavy rain seasons, there can be huge waves; please be cautious for your safety. 2. When visiting coastal recreational areas, please wear comfortable plastic shoes and be especially careful as the ground may be slippery. 3. Wushi Harbor is an important fishing ground; we recommend that visitors enjoy a seafood feast here.
