Tannanshan Catholic Church Introduction
Tannan Catholic Church is the tallest church in Nantou County. The enormous statue of Jesus in Tannan Village serves as a landmark for the church, where one can see Jesus with outstretched arms on the hillside, seemingly comforting the wounded people, suggesting that all suffering has come to an end. The church, built on the slope of the mountain, features walls made of glass, which makes the elongated structure feel spacious. Behind the altar, there is a pool; under the light, it appears as if the church exists both above the surface and beneath the water, symbolizing God's omnipresence. Designed with the concept of Noah's Ark, it combines biblical significance with a modern aesthetic.
