Tannam Village Catholic Church Introduction
Tanan Church is the tallest church in Nantou County. The gigantic statue of Jesus in Tanan Village serves as a landmark for the church; seeing Jesus with arms wide open on the mountainside feels as if He is comforting the scarred people, signaling that all suffering has come to an end. The church is built along the hillside, surrounded by glass walls, which makes the elongated structure feel more spacious. Behind the altar is a pool of water; under the light, it seems as if the church exists on the surface of the water, as well as beneath it, symbolizing that God is omnipresent. Designed with the concept of Noah's Ark that incorporates biblical meanings, it also exudes a sense of modernity.
