Tan Nan Village Catholic Church Introduction
Tannan Catholic Church is the highest church in Nantou County. The giant statue of Jesus in Tannan Village serves as a landmark for the church, and seeing Jesus with arms wide open on the mountainside feels as though he is comforting the wounded people, signaling the end of all suffering. The church is built along the slope and surrounded by glass walls, which makes the elongated structure feel more spacious. Behind the altar is a pool that reflects the light, creating the impression that the church exists both on the surface and beneath the water, symbolizing the omnipresence of God. Designed based on the concept of Noah's Ark, it incorporates biblical significance while exuding a modern flair.
