Tannan Catholic Church Introduction
Tannan Catholic Church is the highest church in Nantou County. The massive statue of Jesus in Tannan Village serves as a landmark for the church. Seeing the statue of Jesus with outstretched arms on the mountainside seems to comfort the wounded people, signifying that all suffering has ended. The church is built along the hillside, surrounded by walls made of glass, which makes the elongated church feel spacious. Behind the altar is a pool of water, and under the light, it appears as if the church is reflected on the surface of the water, symbolizing the omnipresence of God. The design incorporates the concept of Noah's Ark, blending biblical significance with a modern aesthetic.
