Tan Nan Catholic Church Introduction
Tan Nan Catholic Church is the highest church in Nantou County. The massive statue of Jesus in Tan Nan Village serves as a landmark for the church, with the figure of Jesus' outstretched arms on the mountainside seemingly comforting the wounded people, signifying the end of all suffering. The church, built along the hillside, features walls made of glass that create an open atmosphere for the elongated building. Behind the altar, there is a pool of water, and when light shines on it, it appears as if the church exists both on the surface and beneath the water, symbolizing the omnipresence of God. Designed with the concept of Noah's Ark, it incorporates biblical significance while also exuding a sense of modernity.
