Sun Moon Lake Bike Trail - Xiangshan Section Introduction
The Sun Moon Lake bike path is approximately 6.4 kilometers long. The Xiangshan section connects the Shuishe and Xiangshan Visitor Center, covering about 3.4 kilometers and linking two important resting points. Both the Xiangshan Visitor Center and the Shuishe Comprehensive Shopping Mall have bike service stations. The section closest to the water spans about 0.4 kilometers, built over the water, winding around residences and shops, and is known as the "Water Bike Path." To achieve a separate path for pedestrians and cyclists for recreational safety, two dedicated bridges, "Yongjie" and "Tongxin," have been constructed with white piers and wooden walkways. The arched bridge span over the valley was designed with riding fluidity in mind. This area has become a new hotspot for bridal photography, featuring white-toned bridge piers, an artificial beach by the lake, and flowerbeds that create a romantic scene. The Yuantan section begins at the Xiangshan Administration Center and runs south along the southern shore of the Moon Lake, passing through Crescent Bay and Toushe Dam, ending at the entrance of Huantan No. 1 Tunnel, with a total length of approximately 3.4 kilometers. This route offers scenic lake views, with the opportunity to gaze south towards the Toushe Basin and north towards the Qinglong Mountain Range, providing a quality bike path for close encounters with Moon Lake.
