Lin Xian Sheng Temple Introduction
Located beside Yuanji Road in Ershui Township (County Road 152), the origin of Mr. Lin Temple dates back to the 58th year of the Kangxi era (1719 AD), when settler Shi Changling attempted to excavate and construct the Babao Canal near the Nose of Wudong Fort. Despite trying various methods, he could not divert the muddy water of the Zhuoshui River into the canal. Later, he encountered Professor Lin, who introduced him to a method for diverting water, which irrigated the entire Changhua Plain, contributing to its future prosperity. However, after accomplishing this great feat, Mr. Lin refused any rewards and vanished without a trace, leaving his name unknown to others! Grateful descendants built Mr. Lin Temple near the head of the Babao Canal at Nose in Ershui to commemorate his significant contributions.
