Mr. Lin Temple Introduction
Located next to Yuanji Road in Ershui Township (County Road 152), the origin of the Mr. Lin Temple dates back to the 58th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign (1719 AD). The settler, Shi Chang-Ling, was excavating the Babao Canal near the Nose Head of Wudong Fort. Despite exhausting various construction methods, he could not bring the muddy water of the Zhuoshui River into the canal. Later, he fortuitously met Professor Lin, who taught him the method of water diversion, irrigating the entire Changhua Plain and leading to its subsequent prosperity. However, after accomplishing this great feat, Mr. Lin did not seek any reward and vanished without revealing his true identity. Grateful descendants built the Mr. Lin Temple near the head of the Babao Canal at Nose Head in Ershui to commemorate his remarkable contributions.
