Fenqihu (South Side) Silin Trail Introduction
Fenchihu Village Circular Trail System: The Shalin Trail - Laola Street Branch and some sections of the Wooden Horse Boardwalk are under construction for improvement, and visitors are advised to detour according to on-site instructions. The trail is named for the abundant planting of Taiwan cedar and cypress along the way, and can be divided into two sections. One entrance/exit is located beside the Tudi Gong Temple behind the second parking lot, while the other is near a residential area in front of the Zhonghe Police Station. The two routes are connected by an industrial road near the southern entrance of the "Xiagao Dianzi Trail." Starting from the Tudi Gong Temple, visitors descend along the wooden ladder by the railway, and after passing an intersection with the industrial road, they enter a vast cedar forest. The tall and straight cedar trees are quite spectacular, and ferns growing around their trunks vie for sunlight and space in the lush forest. Surrounding the area, diverse native plants and shrubs show endless vitality, exuding a wild atmosphere and releasing phytoncides. The spacious wooden boardwalk and the sitting guardrails are also distinctive features of the Cedar Boardwalk. After reaching a junction, another route leads to Xiagao Dianzi (Laola Street), and it is also possible to return to Fenchihu Old Street. Continuing along the path, one can enjoy the melodious songs of birds under a charming pavilion, and the subsequent "Celestial Blessing Rock" is said to have been spared from rolling down the mountain due to the divine intervention of Tudi Gong. After circling around the southern end of Fuhua Road, one enters another section of the Cedar Boardwalk and returns to the secret realm of the cedars from the forest's edge, leading through the wooden boardwalk to the other entrance/exit.
