Lafran Arts Village Introduction

Upon entering Lafulan Village, a rich indigenous artistic atmosphere immediately comes into view. The beams and pillars of the houses along both sides of the Southern Cross-Island Highway are almost wrapped in Bunun tribal totems, and many wooden and stone sculptures are casually placed along the sidewalks. Visitors strolling through can feel not only the strong indigenous culture but also the vibrant personality of the residents of Meilan Village. Since 1999, the Lafulan Village community has begun planning and building the Lafulan Bunun Arts Village, actively seeking subsidies from various levels of government to promote it. The community is also dedicated to cultivating skilled artisans in traditional Bunun weaving, wood and stone carving, and ceramic arts. The newly completed community cultural performance venue further realizes the ideal of the arts village. In addition to hosting major events like the Bunun Ear Festival, the community regularly uses the performance venue for exchange performances, revitalizing community functions and making the Lafulan Bunun Arts Village truly deserving of its name. Next time you pass by, don't forget to slow down, take photos with the beautiful artistic street scenery, and feel the embodiment of the beautiful Bunun culture. Located behind Lafulan Village, the "Lafulan Arts Village Leisure Trail" takes about 30 minutes to walk the entire length. The trail is built with wooden sleepers interspersed with agricultural paths, offering a unique flavor as you walk. At the high point of the trail, there is a pavilion where visitors can rest and overlook the village landscape.
