Taoyuan District Indigenous Peoples Museum Introduction
The Indigenous Cultural Museum of Taoyuan District is located at approximately 94 kilometers along the Southern Cross-Island Highway, surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful scenery. The museum has three floors, and the main indigenous groups in Taoyuan District are the Bunun and the Rala'ua, along with a small number of Paiwan, Rukai, and Han people. In front of the museum is a large outdoor performance venue suitable for various ceremonies. The museum mainly preserves and showcases the local indigenous culture, enriching its collection with artifacts and images to display the cultural development history of the Bunun and Rala'ua people in the area. It aims to help the tribes understand their historical context and the trajectory of cultural changes. A suggested visit duration is about one hour, allowing visitors to explore the themed exhibition areas featuring various ethnic artifacts and cultural imagery.
