Taoyuan District Indigenous People's Cultural Museum Introduction

The Aboriginal Cultural Museum of Taoyuan District is located approximately 94 kilometers along the Southern Cross-Island Highway, surrounded by stunning mountains. The building has three floors. The main indigenous groups in Taoyuan District are the Bunun and Raruan peoples, along with a small number of Paiwan, Lukai, and Han ethnic groups. In front of the museum, there is a large outdoor performance area that can be used for various ceremonies. The museum primarily preserves the local indigenous culture, enriching its collection of cultural artifacts, including images and objects, to showcase the cultural development of the Bunun and Raruan peoples in this area, thereby presenting their rich culture. It aims to help the indigenous people understand their historical context and the trajectory of cultural change. It is recommended to spend about one hour visiting the different thematic exhibition areas of the museum featuring tribal artifacts and cultural images.
