Taoyuan District Indigenous Cultural Museum Introduction
The Aboriginal Cultural Museum of Tao Yuan District is located approximately 94 kilometers along the Southern Cross-Island Highway in Tao Yuan District, surrounded by beautiful mountains. The museum has three floors and represents the main indigenous groups in the area, namely the Bunun and the Rukai, along with a small number of Paiwan and Han people. In front of the museum, there is a large outdoor performance space that can be used for various rituals and celebrations. The museum primarily aims to preserve local indigenous culture, enriching its collection of artifacts including images and objects to showcase the cultural development history of the Bunun and Rukai tribes in the region, reflecting their rich culture. It is hoped that this can help the indigenous people better understand their historical context and the trajectory of cultural changes. A visit is recommended to take about 1 hour, during which guests can explore the various themed exhibition areas featuring tribal artifacts and cultural imagery.
