Aboriginal Cultural Museum of Taoyuan District Introduction
The Indigenous Cultural Museum of Taoyuan District is located at about 94 kilometers on the Southern Cross-Island Highway, surrounded by mountain ranges with beautiful scenery. The museum consists of three floors, and the main indigenous groups in Taoyuan District are the Bunun and the Tla'aluwa. Additionally, there are a small number of Paiwan, Rukai, and Han people. In front of the museum, there is a large outdoor performance area that can be used for various ceremonies. The main purpose of the museum is to preserve the local indigenous culture, enriching the collection with artifacts, images, and other cultural items. It showcases the cultural development history of the Bunun and Tla'aluwa peoples in the area to present their rich cultures. It is hoped that this will help the tribal members understand their historical context and the trajectory of cultural changes. A recommended stay is about one hour, allowing visitors to explore the themed exhibition areas featuring tribal artifacts and cultural images.
