Dongshe Xiantian Temple Introduction
Xiantian Temple is located in Dongshih Harbor, Chiayi County, and has a history of over three hundred years. The temple, built facing the sea, features a majestic and magnificent exterior, serving as the faith center for local fishermen. It enshrines deities such as the Five Emperors, Emperor Baosheng, and Grand Duke Ji. The Wang Ship Festival, held every five years, commemorates the arrival of the Wang ship from Waisanting Island and is the most important ceremony of Xiantian Temple. Additionally, the Lantern Riddles activity, held for three consecutive days during the Lantern Festival every year, is another century-old tradition of Xiantian Temple, attracting many visitors with its abundant prizes.
