Dongshi Xiantian Temple Introduction
Xiantian Temple is located in Dongshih Fishing Port, Chiayi County, and has a history of over 300 years. The temple, built facing the sea, has a magnificent appearance and serves as a center of faith for local fishermen. It enshrines deities such as the Five Lords, Baosheng Emperor, and Ji Fu Qiansui. The Wang Boat Festival, held every five years, is primarily organized to commemorate the Wang Boat that was welcomed from Waisanting Island, making it the most significant event of Xiantian Temple. Additionally, the Lantern Riddle Guessing activity, held for three days during the Lantern Festival each year, is another century-old tradition of Xiantian Temple, attracting many people each year with its abundant prizes.
