Aogu Wetland Ecological Exhibition Hall Introduction
Dongshi Township is home to the famous wetland - Aogu Wetland, as well as the renowned "Eight Scenic Spots of Dongshi" and delicious, fresh oysters. In recent years, it has become a well-known tourist destination in Taiwan. The Aogu Wetland Ecological Exhibition Hall was inaugurated in 2011, focusing on cultural history and natural ecology, showcasing the richness of local cultural connotations and allowing local culture to take root and thrive. The hall creates a space themed around Dongshi Township's natural ecological culture, embodying the concept of "one ecology, one culture." The permanent exhibition on the second floor, "Seeing the Rhythm of Nature," won both the Japan GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2023 and the 2023 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Award. With materials on bird ecology and local culture, it consists of six major units: Flowing Lands, Migratory Bird Journeys, and Aogu Rebirth, allowing visitors to have an immersive experience of bird ecology, as if visiting the Aogu Wetland in person. The exhibition hall also provides the most comprehensive information on eating, drinking, playing, and entertainment in Dongshi Township, connecting community scenic spots with birdwatching, exploring the Puqi Creek, and classic tours like Waisanding Island, integrating ecological birdwatching with leisure tourism, thus giving new vitality to this tranquil rural fishing village.
