Aogu Wetland Ecological Exhibition Center Introduction
Dongshi Township is home to the famous wetland, Aogu Wetland, along with the renowned "Eight Scenic Spots of Dongshi" and fresh, delicious oysters, which have made it a well-known tourist destination in recent years. The Aogu Wetland Ecological Exhibition Hall was opened in 2011, focusing on cultural history and natural ecology, showcasing the local cultural connotation, and nurturing the roots of local culture. The theme of the exhibition hall is based on the natural ecology and culture of Dongshi Township, creating a space that embodies "one ecology, one culture." The permanent exhibition on the second floor, "Seeing the Rhythm of Nature," won both the Japan GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2023 and the Platinum Award at the 2023 Muse Creative Awards. Featuring themes of bird ecology and local culture, it is divided into six major sections: "Flowing Lands," "Migratory Bird Journeys," and "Aogu New Beginnings," allowing visitors to have an immersive experience of bird ecology, almost as if they were personally visiting Aogu Wetland. The exhibition hall also provides the most comprehensive information on dining, drinking, playing, and entertainment in Dongshi Township, connecting community scenic spots with bird-watching, excursions in the Puzi River, and classic itineraries such as Luan Mountain, thereby injecting new vitality into this tranquil rural fishing village through ecological bird-watching and leisure tourism.
