Aogu Wetland Ecological Exhibition Hall Introduction
Dongshi Township is home to the famous wetland - Aogu Wetland, as well as the renowned "Eight Scenic Views of Dongshi" and plump, fresh oysters. In recent years, it has become a well-known tourist destination in Taiwan. The Aogu Wetland Ecological Exhibition Center was inaugurated in 2011, focusing on cultural history, natural ecology, and other information, enriching the local cultural connotation and allowing local culture to take root and flourish. The theme centers around the natural ecology and culture of Dongshi Township, creating a space of "one ecology, one culture." The permanent exhibition on the second floor, titled "Seeing the Rhythms of Nature," has won both the Japan GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2023 and the Platinum Award at the 2023 Muse Creative Awards. It features six major sections, including "Flowing Land," "Migratory Bird Journeys," and "Aogu Renewal," using themes of bird ecology and local culture, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the experience of bird ecology as if they were personally visiting the Aogu Wetland. The exhibition center also provides the most comprehensive information on eating, drinking, playing, and entertainment in Dongshi Township, linking community scenic spots with birdwatching, the scenic Puzih River, and the classic journey to Waisanding Island. It integrates ecological birdwatching with leisure tourism, giving new vitality to the tranquil rural fishing village.
