Puzih River Estuary Wetland (Puzih River Mouth) Introduction
To get a bird's-eye view of the expansive scenery at the Puzizi River Estuary Wetland, there’s no better spot than the Dongshi Bridge. Standing on the bridge, you'll witness the spectacular estuarine landscape. If the tide is low, sandbars emerge, revealing precious ecological scenery. The ecosystem here primarily consists of intertidal zones, mudflats, riverine mangroves, and oyster farming structures. Among these, the southern endemic Avicennia marina mangroves and the frequently seen fiddler crabs in the wetlands are highlights that make the Puzizi River Estuary Wetland worth visiting. To further enhance visitors' understanding of the wetland's ecology, birdwatching and sightseeing facilities have been constructed along the river dikes, and many fun and engaging informational boards have been created to help visitors learn about the local flora and fauna. In addition to strolling along the river dikes, it’s also an excellent place for cycling. Of course, you can also choose to embark on a sightseeing fishing raft from the Dongshi Fisherman's Wharf to experience the mangroves and wetland ecology by paddling up the river.
