Paro River Estuary Wetlands (Paro River Mouth) Introduction
If you want to get a bird's-eye view of the vast landscape of the Puzi River estuary wetlands, there's no better place than the Dongshi Bridge. Standing on the bridge, you will see the spectacular estuarine scenery; if it's low tide, sandbars emerge, revealing precious ecological landscapes. The ecosystem here primarily consists of estuarine intertidal zones, mudflats, riverine mangroves, and oyster racks. Among these, the mangroves of Kandelia obovata, which are unique to the southern region, and the fiddler crabs that often appear in wetlands are charming guests worth visiting in the Puzi River estuary wetlands. To help visitors learn more about the ecology of the Puzi River estuary wetlands, birdwatching and scenic viewing facilities have been built along the river banks, along with many engaging and cute interpretive signs that provide insights into the local flora and fauna. In addition to being a great place for a stroll along the river banks, it's also an excellent location for cycling. Of course, you can also choose to take a sightseeing fishing raft from the Dongshi Fishing Harbor to experience the mangroves and wetland ecology as you travel upstream.
