Aogu Wetland Forest Park Introduction

Aogu Wetland Forest Park was originally a base for agricultural, fishery, and livestock farming, as well as sugarcane planting by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation during land reclamation. However, due to severe land subsidence and seawater intrusion into the groundwater, the farm gradually fell into decline and abandonment. The low-lying terrain, surrounded by dikes, forms natural reservoirs after heavy rainfall, with the old fish ponds and agricultural land becoming habitats for increasing numbers of migratory and resident birds over time, leading to the establishment of the current Aogu Wetland Forest Park. After ten or twenty years, large areas of afforested land will grow into a thriving forest, and Aogu Wetland will become an international-level ecological environment with diverse forest types and rich wetland ecological resources. Aogu Wetland Forest Park focuses on "wetland conservation" and "environmental education" as its main development orientation, making it a base for ecological tourism and educational research.
