Lioujhongxi Pingpu Cultural Park Introduction
In recent years, there has been a rising trend in seeking the roots of Pingpu culture. To preserve the unique characteristics of Pingpu culture, the Tainan City Government established the "Liuchong Creek Pingpu Cultural Park" to rebuild public shrines, providing a more complete space for the long-discontinued night ritual events. Traditional bamboo houses have been constructed, housing artifacts such as utensils used by the Pingpu people. The public shrine, built from bamboo, is divided into two rooms, dedicated to Qing Shui Lao Jun and the Five Sisters of the Ancestors. The Five Sisters of the Ancestors are represented by five jars arranged in sequence, and they are worshipped with rice wine and betel nuts. The night ritual for the Five Sisters of the Ancestors takes place from the evening of the 14th day of the ninth lunar month until the early morning of the 15th.
