Muxia Suspension Bridge & Muxia Church Introduction

Neimen Mujia is the ancestral land of the Siraya people, with the Mujia Church founded in 1868 as the center of faith in the area, making it the third oldest church in Taiwan. In 1871, British photographer John Thomson traveled to southern Taiwan at the invitation of Dr. Ma Jacob and took dozens of photos of Mujia Church, which have become incredibly valuable images in Taiwanese history. Today, Mujia Church has undergone multiple reconstructions, with its pure white structure continuing to stand amidst the blue skies and majestic mountains, guiding generations of Mujia residents. Nearby, on the mountainside close to Mujia Church, is the Mujia Suspension Bridge, approximately 200 meters long, which is a unique attraction on the Shicuo Hiking Trail. From a distance, it resembles a silver thread between two mountain peaks, allowing visitors to walk across the bridge surrounded by greenery and enjoy the beautiful mountain forest ahead.
