Longdong Cliffs Introduction
In the Northeast Corner, after enjoying the unique rock formations and coastal cliffs, you can switch up your experience and challenge yourself! The journey begins with spotting fixed points in the rock crevices. The coastal cliffs here are composed of four-sided sandstone, which was deposited around fifty million years ago in the nearshore area of the ancient South China landmass. Besides being a paradise for geologists, this solid and compact rock type is also a pilgrimage site for many rock climbers from both domestic and international backgrounds. The nearly vertical cliffs boast a breathtaking natural grandeur, with intricate patterns on the rock surface set against the vast ocean. While most people typically "see" or "capture" these beautiful landscapes through viewing or photography, climbing enthusiasts choose to "experience" it firsthand to fully immerse themselves. This is the largest and finest natural climbing area in Taiwan, waiting for you to explore! **Note:** During the Northeast monsoon season (October to March), long waves can occur. For safety reasons, please refrain from going to the beach for related recreational activities during this time. We appreciate your understanding.
