Longdong Bay Cape Trail Introduction
Walking along the cliffside trail, with the deep blue ocean on one side and lush green mountains on the other, one cannot help but feel a surge of emotion and marvel at this picturesque and poetic beauty. The name "Dragon Cave" comes from the coast’s rocks that curve like a giant dragon coiled. The Bay Cape Trail connects the two major capes of the Northeast Coast, linking the different temporal stories of Cape Bitou, which is 6 million years old, and Longdong Cape, which is 35 million years old. You will feel awed by nature and enchanted by the magnificent spectacle woven through this intricate tapestry of time and space. The trail begins at the Xilingyan Temple, and within just a few minutes, you will reach a viewing platform where you can admire the ocean, listen to the waves, and appreciate the unique rock formations. From this high vantage point, you can clearly see the stunning seascape and rugged cliffs, and you might even spot climbers geared up and scaling the walls nearby—this is the famous Longdong Rock Area, attracting challenge enthusiasts from both domestic and international locales. In just 2 to 3 hours, walking back and forth here feels like traversing through millennia. Besides experiencing the power of time's passage and the movements of the Earth, hiking to great heights also refreshes the body and mind. The spectacular scenery where mountains meet the sea will leave you yearning to return. When you have some time, take a walk here and witness this geological wonder of ancient and enduring rock layers that transcends time and space. 【Reminder】 The trail begins at the Xilingyan Temple on the north side of Longdong Four Seasons Bay and connects all the way to Longdong Bay Ocean Park.
