Longdong Bay Cape Path Introduction
Walking along the cliffside trail, with the deep blue ocean on one side and lush green mountains on the other, evokes a sense of wonder, making one marvel at the picturesque scenery. The name "Longdong" originates from the coastal rocks here, which curve like a giant dragon resting. The Bay Cape Trail connects the two major capes of the Northeast Corner and intertwines the stories of Bitou Cape, which is 6 million years old, and Longdong Cape, which is 35 million years old. You will feel awe for nature and be fascinated by the magnificence created by the interweaving of different timelines. The trail starts at Xilinyan Temple, and after a few minutes' walk, you reach the viewing platform where you can enjoy the sea, listen to the waves, and admire the strange rocks. Being at a high vantage point allows for a clear view of the magnificent ocean scenery and jagged cliffs. You might even see rock climbers in full gear striving to climb the famous Longdong climbing area, attracting enthusiasts from all over who seek a challenge. In just 2 to 3 hours, walking here feels like traversing thousands of years. Besides experiencing the passage of time and the power of the earth's movements, the hike brings physical and mental relaxation. The spectacular scenery of mountains and seas makes it hard to leave. Whenever you have time, come walk here and witness this ancient and resilient geological wonder that transcends time and space. 【Small Reminder】 The trail begins at Xilinyan Temple on the north side of Longdong Shiji Bay and can be followed all the way to Longdong Bay Ocean Park. The round trip from Longdong South Entrance Ocean Park to Hemei Elementary School takes about 1.5 hours; returning to Longdong Bay Park takes about 3 hours. The path is flat and easy to walk on, and visitors can arrange their journey according to the weather and their physical ability.
