Longdong Bay Cape Trail Introduction
Walking along the cliffside trail, with the deep blue ocean on one side and lush green mountains on the other, one can't help but feel deeply moved and marvel at this picturesque and poetic beauty. The name "Longdong" comes from the curved coastal rocks that resemble a huge dragon. The Bay Cape Trail connects the two major capes of the Northeast Coast and intertwines the stories of Bitou Cape from 6 million years ago and Longdong Cape from 35 million years ago, evoking awe for nature and the magnificence of this intersecting timeline. The trail begins at Xilingyan Temple, and within a few minutes, you will reach a viewing platform where you can admire the ocean, listen to the waves, and appreciate the unique rock formations. From this elevated vantage point, you can clearly see the magnificent sea view and rugged cliffs, and you might even spot climbers fully geared and striving upwards on the coastal rock face, which is the famous Longdong climbing area, attracting challenge enthusiasts from all over. In just 2 to 3 hours, traversing this area feels like passing through millennia. Besides experiencing the force of time and earth movements, the hike also refreshes the body and mind, while the stunning scenery where mountains meet the sea captivates visitors. On your free time, come here to witness this geological wonder, which transcends time and space with its ancient and solid rock layers. 【A little reminder】 The trail begins at the Xilingyan Temple on the north side of Longdong Sihai Bay and connects all the way to Longdong Bay Ocean Park. The round trip from Longdong South Entrance Ocean Park to Hemeiguo Elementary School takes about 1.5 hours; a round trip to Longdong Bay Park takes about 3 hours. The path is smooth and easy to walk, allowing visitors to arrange their journey based on the weather and their physical condition.
