Shicheng Service Area Introduction
The Shicheng Service Area, located about 300 meters from the Shicheng settlement, is a great place for travelers to rest and enjoy the scenic views. It is divided into three areas: the main service area, a car park, and a relief sculpture exhibition square. The brick-red main building blends harmoniously with the surrounding scenery, and the exhibition square features multiple relief murals related to the history of land development in Yilan, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of nature while learning about local cultural stories. The two-story building is designed to take advantage of the coastal elevation; the upper level connects to the parking lot and serves as a space for shops and visitors to relax and enjoy the ocean view, while the lower level is closer to the shoreline and includes public restrooms for visitors. Elegant Afternoon Tea with Beautiful Views - The Aroma of Coffee at Shicheng After being reimagined by the management, the first scenic café in Northeast Taiwan was born here. The café features a design with many windows and fewer walls, enhancing the experience of enjoying beautiful views from various angles. As you travel along the coastal highway, gazing toward the blue Pacific Ocean, the presence of this café brings an indescribable joy. Sitting on the outdoor viewing platform with a signature coffee, paired with light snacks and soft music, you'll notice that the scenery changes with time; during the day, you can admire the distant and tranquil Guishan Island, the vast Pacific Ocean, hardworking fishermen, groups of fishing boats, and coastal erosion platforms; at dusk, the sky is filled with colorful clouds, offering a beautiful view of the sunset over Guishan Island; and at night, you can see the flickering lights of fishing boats on the dark sea, creating a completely different ambiance. If you pass through here on your travels, take a moment to stop, escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and experience the leisurely and unique charm of Shicheng!
