Shicheng Service Area Introduction
The Shicheng Service Area, located about 300 meters from the Shicheng Settlement, is a great spot for travelers to rest and enjoy the scenery. It is divided into three areas: the main service area, a parking lot, and a sculpture display plaza. The brick-red main building blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, while the sculpture display plaza features several relief murals related to the history of reclamation in Yilan, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of nature while learning about local cultural stories. The two-story building, situated on the coastal topography, connects the upper level with the parking lot, which houses small shops and spaces for travelers to relax and enjoy the ocean view. The lower level is closer to the coastline and includes public restrooms for visitors to use. The first characteristic landscape coffee house in Northeast Taiwan has been established here after renovations by the management office. The coffee house features a design with more windows and fewer walls for better ventilation, allowing patrons to take in beautiful views from all directions. As you travel along the coastal highway, looking out towards the blue Pacific Ocean, the existence of this coffee shop brings an indescribable delight. Sitting on the outdoor observation platform, enjoying a signature coffee with light snacks and soft music, the scenery changes throughout the day. During the day, you can admire the distant Turtle Island, the vast Pacific Ocean, hardworking fishermen, groups of fishing boats, and coastal erosion platforms; at dusk, colorful clouds fill the sky, showcasing the beauty of the sunset over Turtle Island; at night, you can see fishing lights twinkling on the sea surface, creating a different kind of ambiance. If your travels bring you here, consider taking a moment to pause, escape the urban bustle, and experience the leisurely and unique charm of Shicheng!
