Fulong Station Introduction
Fulong Station may be the most fragrant station of Taiwan Railways, as the aroma of bento boxes wafts through the air the moment you exit the station. On weekends, it is common to see people happily devouring their bentos right on the steps at the station entrance. Fulong is one of the popular destinations for tourists visiting northern Taiwan during the summer. As early as the Japanese colonial period, Fulong was known as a famous beach resort. The Shuangxi River flows into the sea here, creating a dual landscape of inland and open sea. A crescent-shaped arch bridge connects the two areas, with the wide and calm waters of the inland river being suitable for activities such as sailing, kayaking, and swimming. Every year in May and June, the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Season (which features barrier-free walkways) takes place, and in July, the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival attracts numerous visitors. Cyclists wishing to challenge the Old Caoling Circular Bicycle Path can rent bicycles here to enjoy the wind and the scenery.
