Fulong Station Introduction
Fulong Railway Station is possibly the most fragrant station in Taiwan, as the scent of bento fills the air just outside the station. On weekends, it is common to see people holding bento boxes and enjoying their meals joyfully right on the steps of the station. Fulong is one of the popular destinations for tourists visiting northern Taiwan in the summer. As early as the Japanese occupation period, Fulong was a famous seaside resort. The Shuangxi River flows into the sea here, creating a dual landscape of inner and outer sea. A crescent-shaped arch bridge connects the two areas, with the broad and calm waters of the inner river suitable for activities such as sailing, kayaking, and swimming. The annual Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival (which has accessible pathways) is held in May-June, followed by the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival in July, attracting numerous visitors. Cyclists looking to challenge themselves on the Old Caoling Circular Bike Trail can rent bikes here and enjoy the scenery while riding in the wind.
