Fulong Station Introduction
Fulong Station might be the most aromatic station of Taiwan Railways, as the scent of bento boxes wafts through the air as soon as you exit the station. On holidays, it's common to see people holding bento boxes, enjoying a hearty meal right on the steps of the station. Fulong is one of the popular summer destinations for tourists visiting northern Taiwan. Back during the Japanese colonial period, Fulong was already a famous seaside resort. The Shuangxi River flows into the sea here, creating a dual landscape of inner and outer seas. A crescent-shaped arch bridge connects the two areas; the inner river features a wide surface and gentle currents, making it suitable for activities such as windsurfing, kayaking, and swimming. Every year, the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival (which has accessible pathways) takes place in May-June, followed by the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival in July, attracting many visitors. Cyclists looking to challenge the old Caoling Circular Bike Path can rent bicycles here to enjoy the scenic views.
