Spis'by's Titanic Cliff Introduction

The "Titanic" is actually a famous attraction located on a cliff atop a mountain, part of a group of tower-shaped mountains formed by steep cliffs and precipices, and belongs to the sacred mountain area of the Tsou people. This massive rock was formed due to tectonic forces long before the indigenous peoples arrived. After the rise of the "Titanic" movie craze, it was named for its resemblance to the ship's deck and the way part of the ship appeared above water when it sank. Subsequently, a safety railing was erected at the edge of the cliff, attracting many tourists. Locals refer to this area as Spispi, which means overgrown with typhoon grass, and can also imply a corner of the back mountain. The vertical cliffs of the Titanic drop at least 500 to 600 meters, and standing at the edge offers an incredible panoramic view of the magnificent landscape. One can easily admire the beautiful Taroko Gorge, Alishan Stream, and the Liji tribe below. In the fantastically changing mountainous valleys, the Alishan Stream resembles a long strip of white silk, winding through the terrain, and the steep cliffs within the green valleys are breathtaking. The sunset clouds during the dusk are particularly photogenic and perfect for keepsakes.
