Chiang Kai-shek Park Introduction
To commemorate the anniversary of President Chiang Ching-kuo's passing, the military and civilians of Kinmen jointly built Zhongzheng Park in 1976 to express their remembrance of his contributions to Kinmen. This park not only carries historical sentiment but also serves as an important green space for local residents to relax and stroll. The entrance to Zhongzheng Park is located on the south side of Taihu Lake, and the area includes Taihu and the Banyan Garden, covering a vast, lush area with a total size of 50 hectares. Upon entering the park, visitors are first greeted by an impressive archway and a statue of Chiang Ching-kuo—holding a military cap and wearing a kind expression, with the shimmering Taihu Lake behind him. The park is shaded by pine trees and features a lakeside walking trail, stone sculptures, pavilions, and small bridges, creating a peaceful and pleasant environment. The area also has a children’s sports and play area, making it suitable for family outings. Zhongzheng Park is one of the few multifunctional parks in Kinmen that combines memorial significance with natural scenery. Whether you want to stroll by the lake, enjoy the greenery, or let your children play, Zhongzheng Park is a city oasis in Kinmen worth visiting.
