Yu Dawei Memorial Hall Introduction

The Yu Dawei Memorial Hall features an elegant exterior constructed with gray bricks and green tiles, complemented by the beautiful greenery surrounding it, creating a graceful and serene atmosphere. Upon entering the hall, visitors are greeted by a half-length statue of Mr. Yu Dawei, accompanied by a couplet that describes his character as "a remarkable man of both literature and martial skills, a distinguished individual who stands out." During the 823 Artillery Bombardment, Mr. Yu not only organized the troops in a systematic manner but also fought alongside his soldiers on the front lines, earning great admiration from the public during his lifetime. The hall not only recounts Mr. Yu's preferences and contributions during the war period but also displays various medals, the most captivating of which is the "Order of Brilliant Star," famously known as the "Golden Medal of Life Protection." The Yu Dawei Memorial Hall is located near the 823 War History Museum, the Banyan Garden, and the Comfort Lodge, making it convenient for visitors to explore these attractions afterwards to gain a deeper understanding of Kinmen's position and evolution during the wartime.
