Mr. Yu Da-wei Memorial Hall Introduction
Yu Da-wei Memorial Hall is constructed with elegant gray bricks and green tiles, complemented by the beautiful scenery of greenery outside, creating a very graceful and serene environment. Upon entering the hall, visitors are greeted by a bust of Mr. Yu Da-wei, with a couplet describing his character: "A remarkable man excelling in both literary and martial arts, standing out as a true gentleman." Mr. Yu was known for his talents in both fields. During the 823 Artillery Bombardment, he not only organized the troops systematically but also fought alongside the soldiers on the front lines, earning admiration from many during his lifetime. The hall recounts Mr. Yu's interests and contributions during the war and showcases various medals, including the most eye-catching "Order of the Blue Sky and White Sun," famously known as the "golden death exemption medal." The Yu Da-wei Memorial Hall is located near the 823 War History Museum, Rongyuan, and Wei Lu, allowing visitors to explore these sites to gain a deeper understanding of Kinmen's significance and transformation during the wartime period.
