Yu Dawei Memorial Hall Introduction

The Yu Da-wei Memorial Hall is elegantly constructed with gray bricks and green tiles, harmonizing beautifully with the lush greenery surrounding it. Upon entering the hall, visitors are greeted by a bust of Mr. Yu Da-wei, accompanied by the couplet that describes his character: "A man of both literature and martial arts, a gentleman who stands out from the crowd." He is indeed a talent who excelled in both fields. During the Battle of Kinzua, Mr. Yu not only organized the troops methodically but also fought alongside the soldiers at the frontline, earning great admiration from the public during his lifetime. The hall recounts Mr. Yu's interests and contributions during the war while showcasing various medals, with the most notable being the "Order of the Blue Sky and White Sun," famously known as the "Gold Medal of Life." The Yu Da-wei Memorial Hall is located near the 823 War History Museum, the Banyan Garden, and the Memorial Hall, allowing visitors to further explore these attractions and gain a deeper understanding of Kinmen's significance and transformation during the wartime period.
