Yu Da-wei Memorial Hall Introduction
The Yu Dawei Memorial Hall is constructed with elegant gray bricks and green tiles, complemented by the beautiful outdoor greenery, creating a serene and graceful atmosphere. Upon entering the museum, one is greeted by a half-figure statue of Mr. Yu Dawei, accompanied by couplets that clearly describe his character: "A man of exceptional talents in both literature and martial arts, a virtuous man who stands out." Mr. Yu Dawei was not only methodically organizing the troops during the 823 Artillery Battle but also personally fought alongside the soldiers on the front lines, earning great admiration during his lifetime. The museum details Mr. Yu Dawei's interests and contributions during the war and displays various medals, among which the most captivating is the "Order of the Blue Sky and White Sun," known as the "Get Out of Death Free Medal." The Yu Dawei Memorial Hall is adjacent to the 823 War Museum, Rongyuan Garden, and Weilu, allowing visitors to explore these sites after the memorial hall to gain a deeper understanding of Kinmen's status and evolution during wartime.
