Taihu Recreation Area Introduction
The Taihu Recreation Area includes Taihu, the CKS Memorial Forest, the Banyan Garden, the Yu Dawei Memorial Hall, and the 823 War History Museum, covering an area of approximately 45 hectares. Taihu, originally named "Huanglong Reservoir," is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Kinmen, supplying drinking water for the residents of Jincheng Township and irrigation for farmers. The vast lake surface is majestic, and the ripples that arise with the wind always attract the attention of passersby. There are three islands in the lake, home to many birds, and the surrounding area is also frequented by playful otters. In the early morning, Taihu appears dreamlike in the mist, with dense flowers and trees planted along the lakeside. Strolling along the lakeside trail allows visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake and mountains, or one can relax and chat in the pavilions, which is a rare delight. Planning a half-day visit to the nearby Banyan Garden and the 823 War History Museum is also a great idea! The CKS Park encompasses both Taihu and the Banyan Garden areas, featuring shaded pine forests, beautiful lake and mountain views, and lush green grass. It includes a lakeside observation trail, a children's sports park, stone sculptures, and small bridges, making it an ideal place for families to enjoy leisure time and appreciate the surrounding natural scenery.
