Taihu Recreation Area Introduction
The Tahu Recreation Area includes Tahu Lake, the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Forest, the Banyan Garden, the Yu Dawei Memorial Hall, and the 823 War History Museum, covering an area of approximately 45 hectares. Tahu Lake, originally named "Huanglong Reservoir," is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Kinmen, providing living water and irrigation for the people in the Jinhu area. The vast surface of the lake presents a magnificent view, and the ripples stirred by the wind always catch the eye of passersby. The lake contains three islands that are home to many bird species, and the surrounding area is also a frequent haunt for adorable otters. In the early morning, Tahu Lake appears dreamy and ethereal among the mist, with dense flowers and trees planted along the lakeside. Strolling along the lakeside path, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake and mountains or relax and chat in the pavilions, making for a rare delight. Planning a half-day trip to the nearby Banyan Garden and 823 War History Museum is also a great arrangement! Zhongzheng Park encompasses the entire Tahu area and the Banyan Garden. The park features shaded pine forests, scenic lake and mountain views, lush green grass, and includes a lakeside walking path, a children's playground, stone sculptures, and small bridges, making it an ideal place for families to relax and appreciate the natural scenery around.
