Taihu Recreation Area Introduction
Taihu Recreation Area includes Taihu Lake, the Chiang Chung-jen Memorial Forest, the Banyan Garden, the Yu Dawei Memorial Hall, and the 823 War Museum, covering an area of about 45 hectares. Originally named "Huanglong Reservoir," Taihu Lake is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Kinmen, supplying drinking water and irrigation for the residents and farmers in Jincheng area. The vast surface of the lake is imposing, and the ripples caused by the wind always attract the attention of passersby. There are three islands in the lake that are home to many bird species, and the surrounding area is also a habitat for cute otters. In the early morning, Taihu Lake appears dreamy in the mist, with dense flowers and trees planted along the shore. Walking along the lakeside path offers a splendid view of the surrounding landscape, or you can relax and chat in a pavilion, making for a delightful experience. Planning a half-day trip to nearby Banyan Garden and the 823 War Museum is also a great arrangement! Zhongzheng Park encompasses both Taihu Lake and Banyan Garden. The park features shady pine forests, beautiful lake and mountain scenery, and lush green grass. It also has a lakeside walking path, children’s sports park, stone sculptures, and small bridges, making it a perfect place for families to relax and enjoy the natural beauty around them.
