Taihu Recreation Area Introduction
The Taihu Recreation Area includes Taihu Lake, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Forest, the Banyan Garden, the Yu Dawei Memorial Hall, and the 823 War History Museum, covering an area of approximately 45 hectares. Originally named "Huanglong Reservoir," Taihu Lake is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Kinmen, supplying drinking water for the Jincheng area and irrigation for farmers. The expansive surface of the lake is magnificent, with ripples rising with the wind that always attract the gaze of passersby. There are three islands in the lake, home to many bird species, and the surrounding area is also a habitat for lovely otters. In the early morning, Taihu Lake appears dreamy amidst the mist, with dense flowering plants along the lakeside. Strolling along the lakeside trail allows one to enjoy the surrounding lake and mountain views, or one can relax and chat in a pavilion, making for a rare moment of leisure. Furthermore, planning a half-day visit to the nearby Banyan Garden and the 823 War History Museum is an excellent arrangement! The Chiang Kai-shek Park encompasses the entire Taihu Lake and Banyan Garden areas. The park features shaded pine forests, picturesque lake and mountain scenery, lush green grass, as well as a lakeside trail, a children's sports park, stone sculptures, and small bridges, making it perfect for family recreation and enjoying the surrounding natural beauty.
